I somewhat agree with you but you picked the wrong RB's. See Portis and Betts will atleast run North South and take a hit running the ball. SA is more like Rock in the fact that Rock likes to take the ball and dance in the back field, run East/West and hope to break the big one. He loses yrds more then any other back until he breaks a big one for like 40 yrds.

In most cases people can do 100 good things and everyone will remember the one bad thing. Rock could have 100 run and only two being good and everyone praises his abilities and thinks he should be our #1 or #2 back.

SA is no different. He takes the ball and dances around on his tipy toes in the back field losing yrds here and there until he finds a lane a mack truck could drive through then gets decent yrds and everyone call him a pro bowl RB.

Note to SA: The Giants let one RB go and the Eagles only have one decent one that is injured half the season. check with them, they might give you a roster spot.

That may be what Neon Deion calls him but thats not why we call him that. I hope when SA heard the fans calling him the TTB he was not thinking of what Deion called him cause he had a false idea. Someone should set him straight and tell him TTB stands for him tip toeing in the back field avoiding collision and losing yrds.

Would anybody want to swap him with Betts? I don't see this at all, and I think Alexander was more a product of Walter Jones, Steve Hutchinson, and a good Seattle line, but if he is better than Betts, or for that matter somebody else is better than Betts, I would want them in that #2 spot. I really would only want that so that the FO thinks we need another RB because I could see them sticking with the Portis/Betts combination for a while, but without Betts it would give them more reason to pick up a young guy, who's not a return guy, that can be a real #1 back that can be developed.

Can I point out that Alexander has had as many games to prove that [B]he's still got it[/B] as Campbell has had as an NFL starter altogether?

You would think that if he's still a useful back, it would have manifested itself in a 15 yard carry or something over the last three years.

Even Betts is a better option than SA...in fact Betts has a way higher upside for us.

overrated. If it wasnt for Zorn's history with him he would have never came here to begin with. He should keep training but maybe he should focus his energy on coming back to DC and doing some public works projects or something with all that money he got from the 'Hawks (a the little we gave him).

IMO SA does not upgrade our running back positon so why even bring him to camp. We need to find out who is going to be our #3 RB. Ladell has been here since Spurrier drafted him to replace Stephen Davis but that has not happened with Portis coming here. I think this maybe his last season in DC because his salary is to high for the production you get out of him. He has to give us some big plays with his limited number of touches per game. If he can't be productive in that roll than he will be out after this season in my opinion.

How did this guy ever dominante in fantasy football with that running style? Can anyone tell me whats changed since he was in his prime, apart from him being 30+?

He doesn't look to hit the hole and create plays down field. He just runs forward until he gets hit, and then doesn't really have the athleticism to make a play. The result is that he's only effective when the OL not only wins the battle up front, but dominates.

I think this change resulted from injuries he got, tried to re-create himself, and just got away from all the things that made him good. I'd be surprised if he ever had an effective season again.

07- 25 yard long
06- 33 yard long

Just for the record, I'm not saying to sign him. The man no longer has it. But Alexander is a true class act, and would be great for the team in terms of his professionalism. He would waste a space as an RB, but as a RB coach, or some sort of mentor to the rookies, I'd take him in a heartbeat. There is too much "hate" for a man that was a great player, a great running back, and a great person. From 2001-2005 he was GREAT. After that injury he wasn't the same. Now it's time for him to fade into retirement, or sign on as a mentor / coach.
