Thrash did an awesome job towards the end of the game. I remember him being a big factor in one of our ending drives.

I wonder what it'll take for us to ever see McCants...

I actually feel bad for McCants. He defintley could have gotten picked up elsewhere and played alot. He's one of my favorite players, if I knew he was just gonna sit out, I would have said to let him go.

I wonder, who could we make inactive in order to bring in McCants...

I think that having him in there as a choice could definitely add new dimensions to the offense, because that guy is just a TD machine. Having him and Gardner going at the defense in the redzone would be pretty nice.

how about making jimoh or clark inactive??

Winskins 09-28-2004 10:59 PM

Yeah, Clark was kinda pissing me off...

Greg Williams loves his DB's, but Joe Gibbs loves his receivers too...so I wonder

It'll take McCants having a great week of practice, and I guarantee you that's precisely what's kept him on the bench. McCants has never been known as a good practice player. Actually I should say, he's never been known as a consistently good practice player. Oh sure, he shows his flashes once in a while, but more often than not, he's dropping passes that he should easily catch, or doesn't appear to be giving a full effort. He just seems to lack focus in practice, and that's something Gibbs isn't going to tolerate. All of the players that are ahead of him on the depth chart right now looked much better than him in training camp practices, and I'm sure the performance in practice is why he's still on the bench now.

McCants is a player that has never really had his head in the game. He has improved considerably since his rookie season (remember those personal fouls that killed us), but I guess he is still not putting out 100% on the practice field. It's a shame too, because he has the talent to be good in this system.

The staff knew Coles hurt the finger because he missed a series. Later in the game, I don't recall him dropping the ball; that was all in that tough first quarter. In the second, his catch took us to the one yard line.

Prediction: coles will bounce back.
