I was more amazed by the fact no one on Fox cared to point out to Mr. Beck that Obama's mother is white and both grandparents who helped raise him were white. In my mind, the argument stops right there.

But I guess facts don't matter when you're making an emotionally based argument to begin with.

Obama is not a racist he just said something stupid. He's human. It was stupid and our president needs to think before he speaks but it was a slip.

It's sad that the "race card" has to be played out so much. In this example, you have the most powerful person in America basically calling out everypolice officer in America. Calling them stupid and accusing of racism. Yeah, i know he didn't mean everyone, but there are ears listening to what the man sais. How are others going to respect the police dept when our leader doesn't.

He's not a racist but he does need to watch what he sais.

For the record I do not think that Obama is racist. I do however think he was acting stupidly when he said the Cambridge police were, ummm, acting stupidly. I don't care if he felt that way about the situation, it should have been left unsaid.

I would compare Beck's charge of racism to those who charged Bush of being racist because of the Katrina response. Both statements are irresponsible and neither statement has any credibility.

While I don't believe the President to be a racist, I do believe he allowed his personal friendship with Gates to cloud his judgement and make the statement he did without all the facts.

Oh please, like any device could "prompt" men on how to talk to girlfriends/wives. The damn think would give you the blank screen the first time it encountered a woman during PMS.

The cops acted stupidly point blank period. The charges were dropped, couldn't stand up in any court of law even in South Carolina. In this system the cops can arrest you but the prosecutor has to prosecute. Now how can you prosecute if no crime was committed? Calling someone a racists who is not a racist is not a crime. Glenn Beck's point exactly. He was doing to Obama what Professor Gates did to the cop. The cops reaction was weak, he should have been more professional. You don't arrest people who have not committed a crime, unless you want the prosecutor to look at you like you acted stupidly when he has to drop the charges and apologize. I don't think the officer is racist, I just think he needs vacation or something. As for the black police officers. They better agree with the other cops, everyone understands that cops stick together.
