We had a Betamax player. For the longest time if we wanted to watch a VHS tape my dad would have to hook our 50lbs. videocamera up to the TV and we'd use it like a VCR.

Who else remembers using the Nintendo Powerpad? The best way to get it to work was to get down on the floor and pound on it with your fists. I also remember the best way to get the Powerglove to work was to wear it on your left and push all the buttons with your right.

When that Betamax was first bought you probably thought wow this thing is awesome, now you look at and you are like what a bunch of crap. Someday you will do this with an iPhone.

Remember these goodies?:

- Turbo Graphix 16
- Sega Saturn
- NeoGeo
- Virtual Boy

On another note, my step-dad worked for DEC for 15 years during the 80's and 90's, and I had the opportunity to witness some interesting things:

1.) The computer with the monitor built in. A big heavy clunk of junk with the keyboard with a coiled cord. No, not the imac.

2.) The modem where you put the telephone receiver onto the top of it.

3.) "Tape" computer programs.

4.) Netscape version 1.0, and browsing the internet in the early 90's.

5.) 486 DX2 computers with Turbo buttons and the mHz LED readout on the front.

6.) Token-ring network over coax.

7.) MS DOS

It's crazy to think about how far we've come in such little time. Here's to progress!

I had the Sega Saturn, make the wrong choice of going with that system over the Playstation. Fail on my part.

I remember making mix tapes with cassettes. You know, the boom box with the double tape deck? Who would have imagined iTunes and playlists?

Nope. I was still making them in college. Had my [URL="http://novoimages.quebarato.com.br/photos/big/3/D/1E433D_1.jpg"]Aiwa Mini stereo[/URL] hooked up to my computer (blew out the original speakers, and replaced them with a decent pair of JBL bookshelf speakers), would set up a Mp3 playlist in WinAMP and played it while recording to cassette, which I played in the car since my 1988 Honda Accord coupe still had a tape deck. Good times...

Yeah, how about listening to a boombox in your car, because the tape deck was broken... Yes!

awww yeah been there done that a few times

I remember riding around in high school with my buddy who was rocking a Ford Pinto, broken stereo, boom box in hand, pumping out some Ratt or Def Leppard. LOL
