Brunell is the only starter who I feel needs some time on the bench. Of about 120 minutes of football, he's only been good in about 15 of them. Gibbs' entire system depends on the credibility of the deep ball (run, throw deep, run, run, throw deep). Defenses are not going to back off Portis until we get a few deep completions. Ramsey's short passing game blows and Brunell's deep ball blows. Right now, I'd go with Ramsey.
I was against getting Brunell to begin with (due to dead cap space concerns) but giving up a high second rounder for him when Kerry Collins and others were on the market was insane. Our dline could use a pass-rushing threat and we could use some depth at safety or TE or LB. That 2nd rounder would have helped us out nicely. Brunell just doesn't cut it and anyone who thinks he does hasn't been watching out scoreboard lately. |
Does anyone else eat alot when they get depressed/pissed off. I think I've gained like 7 pounds since the Skins started this season ( Eating Peanutbutter Brownies right now)
if brunell had lead coles on that long pass up the middle it would have gone for 6
if,if,if,if,.son do'nt you know that is the middle word of life?do'nt look back, look forward. |
you guys are full of shit and blind as stevie wonder if you think brunnell is the problem.portis can't hold onto the ball, sit his ass on the bench, give mccant's a chance to play, run some screen plays or draws.this ai'nt brunnel's fault.
ramsey is a joke at qb,really as an nfl qb WTF has he done but throw lots and lots of ints?imo, hasselback at this point is a better qb in the new system than ramsey is.ramsey could not hit the floor if he fell on it.do'nt get pissed fellows, just open your eyes and be patient.
I criticized portis too. when ramsey came in this year he threw one pick that was his fault. One other was a tip and the other was an amazing defensive play. But more importantly. Ramsey moved the ball down the field and provided a spark. |
Bigredskin - if I could understand what you wrote I'd retort. Remember Ramsey was used for times in the Spurrier era to come in and launch a ball as far as he could, which led to like 3 INTs. Brunell isn't hurting us anymore, but he sure as hell isn't moving us. Can't run without the threat of a pass, and can't pass without the threat of a run.
i'll put it in english okay.what has brunell done to lose the games so far?has has not thrown any pics yet has he?he is doing what is asked of him by his coaches.did'nt you listen to the game?if he was not moving the team today who was?with respect to ramsey,i'm talking about his"great"relief performance against the giants.all he had to do was throw 1 touchdown pass and he could not do it.i am not holding the last two years against ramsey or anybody that played for spurrier.since the first preseason game this year under gibbs, ramsey has pretty much stunk up the place and that is bad. |

he did throw a TD pass... and he threw a 2nd one too, that gardner dropped ;) next complaint.... |
Portis and Coles put the ball on the ground. If that continues, it doesn't matter who's QB.

let me change the subject before i piss somebody off,why the hell are'nt kenyatta jones, darrien mccant's,and the rock playing any?

Thanks for putting it in English, because I wasn't sure what in what language I should write "Brunell can't move shit." Brunell hasn't made a lot of costly mistakes, but he hasn't done anything with our offense. With Portis, Coles, Gardner, Thrash, Cooley et al. Brunell has no excuses for not getting it done. I could hold onto the ball and just get sacked (like Brunell was 5 times last week - largely due to holding onto the ball too long). But that doesn't mean I'd make a good QB. The QB is ultimately responsible for moving the chains. 1 or 2 drops by Coles and 1 fumble by Portis isn't goog enough of an excuse to say that those people are why we can't make the offense work. How many deep passes has Brunell thrown this season? I don't know what the exact number is, but a lot. How many has he completed? 5 or 6...at most. That's not good. Brunell has had 4 good drives. Other than that, he hasn't justified Gibbs' decision to start him. |
Portis and Coles put the ball on the ground. If that continues, it doesn't matter who's QB.
Then why is it that other teams whose RBs and WRs fumble or drop passes can get it done? If I recall, drops and fumbles didn't kill all of our drives, or even close to the majority of them. When drops and fumbles weren't our problem (i.e. against TB and Dallas) why is it that we still couldn't get it done? I want to actually hear someone defending Brunell say that he has looked good. If you can show me someone who says that, I'll show you a blind crackhead. |
The Ravens must be licking their chops right now.

Ramseyfan - I am in the tank for Ramsey as well. Guess it is time for a new icon, We Want Ramsey.

Mark Brunell is going to be the QB for this season, so stop your whining and pouting. If Ramsey were ready, he would have shown it in the Giants game and during practice before the Dallas game. Turns out, Gibbs wasn't feeling "Patty Cake Ramsey." He would have gotten his ass handed to him against Dallas and you would have still used the excuse he's still learning the offense. This shit is getting real dull on this website. Sounds like you all want to be cheerleaders for your QB rather than understand a veteran is what Gibbs works more effectively with and that's not going to change.
