Saw something about John Runyan on Twitter. Is he even an option at this point? Can he still play?
There's a couple of reasons why he's still out there, age being one, injury being another plus he will want more mulah than the Redskins will be willing to pay.
I think the Eagles "rally" had more to do with Andy Reid improved playcalling in the second half of the season than McNabb getting bench.

What is the point of benching JC if Zorn's playcalling doesn't improve?
Definitive proof that play calling is to blame. If Collins comes in and the Offense does worse... something that is almost impossible, then we can check QB play off the list. The O is so bad that everything should be tinkered with at this point. Nothing should be off limits. Trial and error.

We could get Kendall and Runyan (or Levi Jones) and I think we'd at least have what we used to before the injuries talent-wise.

I agree with that. Thats what we should do. Batiste and Heyer are absolutely awful. Hopefully Samuels can come back soon but we need help for sure.
Offense: Turned 2 TO's into 2 TD's - Scoring in the red-zone has been a problem all season, today being the exception.

Running game: Portis once again failed to exceede 100yds. rushing.

Passing game: QB had good pass completion percentage/good QB rating/all for less than 200yds. passing. Overall offense lacks imagination, and the ability to create for itself when plays break down, some of which can be attributed to an inept OL.

Defense: Played solid but uneven at times. Tackling continues to be a problem.

Special Teams: Forced fumble led to first score - Gave up one long return - Misplayed punt late in game which contributed to a Carolina score. Call them "medium" for the day, what they gave in the first qtr. they took back in the 4th.

Thomas, Davis and Kelly got slightly involved, results, sporadic at best would be the way I would characterize their efforts.

BL: Team lacks consistency across the board.
Your right today was exception because the O could not even get into the red zone and they had to rely on the D for that.
We put Collins with no mobility he will be killed with the garbage O-Line we have. He will have to hold the ball cause our WR dont get open he cant move it will be ugly quickly for him.
Or maybe he will see whats coming and take what the D is giving him.

It was nice to have the D finally contribute to the scoring. Technically, the defensive touchdown-less streak is now at 31 games, but that Hall return is as close to a defensive TD as you will get without getting one.

Now, if only the special teams would come play nice, we would have actually won a game in spite of the offense. Alas, when you are overall mediocre in defense + special teams, you have to rely on some contribution from the offense. And in this game, there just wasn't much.

Redskins defense this year is better than our defense last year. Which is what we were all expecting before the season. So that's a high.

Oh you mean the check downs like JC does bc not one is open, or bc the line can provide enough protection for his WR routes to develop oh no he would become a dink & donk QB then?
