Re: Diehardskin's Theory of the 2010 Redskins
I see Shanahan keeping JC, maybe pursuing Marshall (RFA), drafting an OL, RB, moving up to get a FS in the 3rd. Remember, Marshall was the 4th round pick in '06 we traded in order to get JC in '05, and Marshall has respect for Shanahan and knows Synder will pay him some heavy coin.

you're kidding with the part about Rabach starting at guard, right? and why not Williams as the starting center?

Re: Diehardskin's Theory of the 2010 Redskins
If we got Marshall, paried with Thomas, Moss, and the TE's, this offense would be so sweet, but you need o-line first so you have time to pass it to them. I am getting so excited about next year its crazy, but I feel this way every year! GOLLY!

Yeah definetely agree with addressing the o-line first, but assuming Shanahan comes in, and if Marshall's available this is the perfect spot for him. An owner willing to shell out big contracts, and he's familar w/ Shanahans scheme. Marshall does have a "me first" but so did D-hall, but we need to shore up that O-line first. |
Re: Diehardskin's Theory of the 2010 Redskins
I don't see the skins using a high draft pick on a RB if Shanny comes in as the coach. He has been very successful with late rounders and FA's in his plug-n-play running game.
A major rebuilding is in the works, and there are needs at every position, if not for starting talent then for depth. I think Campbell stays for another year, maybe two. |

I don't see Marshall leaving Denver. He's got great rapport with Orton, and Pat Bowlen already indicated Marshall has a big raise coming. They'll lock him up long term. |
Re: Diehardskin's Theory of the 2010 Redskins
If we have a running back other than Portis next year starting we will already be ahead the game.

Starting over with a rookie QB in a complex system like the WCO is not the way to go.
was cutler a starter his rookie year for shanny? if so, how did he do? |
Re: Diehardskin's Theory of the 2010 Redskins
IF Mike Shanahan comes here, this is what I see happening.
-Our first pick will be a QB, because OLineman are rich in free agency especially guys who know shanahans system like mentioned before. I see us getting Sam Bradford.(If he's not available then I see us getting Okung from Oklahoma state, plus some other good OT's that are juniors are declaring this year so you know some will drop and we could get one with our second rounder) -We make a play for Brandon Marshall for sure -We bring in at least one offensive lineman (Logan Mankins, and Marcus McNeil are free agents) -Portis is surprisingly kept because he knows Shanahans offense well and can teach Ganther and the RB we'll bring in through the draft (Betts is gone, possibly Cartwright) -We also make a play for Keith Bulluck of the Titans, and Josh Cribbs for our poor return game -Orakpo gets moved to DE, and Bob Slowik will probably be our DC after Blache retires -Levi Jones is resigned and Rocky is signed to a long term deal. Dockery and Levi will most likely be the only guys from this current line who are on it next year. Rabach maybe gone, as well as heyer (or kept as a backup) -Possible OL for next year Levi Jones, Dockery, Rabach?, Chris Kuper/Chester Pitts, Russell Okung Jones, Dockery, Rabach?, Mike Iupati (rookie; Idaho), Tyson Clabo -Antwaan Randel El, Randy Thomas, Chris Samuels, Philip Daniels, Cornelius Griffin, Fred Smoot, Todd Collins, and Justin Tryon gone. With Portis, Rabach, Moss, Cooley, Campbell?, Heyer, Fletcher?, Landry, Carter, Rogers all on the fence as to who stays/ goes/gets traded. |

If we have a healthy RB next year we are ahead of the game. |
Re: Diehardskin's Theory of the 2010 Redskins
We will win the Super Bowl if we sign Pacman Jones.

Re: Diehardskin's Theory of the 2010 Redskins
no way Shanahan brings Marshall here. there were reports that he was ready to cut him, but he got fired instead. tired of his antics

i actually had a conversation about him with a friend, and i know it will probaly get shot down, but i thought it wouldn't have been that bad for us to bring him into camp, or atleast try, just pay him dirt and if he does anything wrong kick him out, i think he would have been a better option than anyone we have beside los smoot and hall |
Re: Diehardskin's Theory of the 2010 Redskins
Are people with all these theories taking into consideration how some free agents are going to be RFAs with the uncapped year? Just asking because many sites that have list of free agents don't have this information. I think Yahoo Sports has a list of UFAs and RFAs based on an uncapped year.

Cutler started 5 games his rookie year at the end of the season. He had 9 tds and 7 turnovers and had a rating of 82.5. Can't really take much from that. |
