Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
The commish had to give him 4 games at least IMO. I think he's sending a bit of an extra message w/the extra games pending further info.

Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
The commish hasn't suspended Rothlisberger yet. He just said no decision has been made.

Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
Good. I hope it's 6. Friggin slimeball.

Big deal, he's just supposed to be the one to announce it. |
Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
It looks more and more likely that Ben will be traded before the draft tomorrow night....
|
Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
Hypothetically, if Big Ben is traded to say Buffalo for their 1st rd pick...How likely is it that Pittsburgh will be willing to be trade partners with us?
If Bradford falls to the 4: a) should we trade the pick to Pittburgh for the 9th and the 50th (2nd round pick) b) go ahead and draft Bradford anyway c) draft Okung b/c he or Trent Williams won't be around at the 9th? What about Jason Campbell? Would they entertain trade offers for him for one of their picks? |

Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
It's official, 6 games, could be reduced to 4 based on his behavior during the suspension.
|
Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
Six games, with the option to be reduce to four for good behavior.
He has to go to therapy and under go a full evaluation. |
Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
So if Ben keeps his nose clean it's 4 games. I think that's fair.

It is fair. It is the right thing to do. The Steelers were going to punish if the NFL did not. I wonder if they will fine him? I guess the suspension is with out pay. That is a fine. |
Re: Big Ben gets 4-6 games
I'm not sticking up for Roethlisberger but I'm struggling to see any justification for a ban.

You serious? A suspension doesn't require a conviction or jail time, he clearly violated the "personal conduct" regulations. He needs to sent a message to be responsible before he makes more bad decisions. His actions reflect very badly on all NFL players, brings negative attention to his team everywhere they go and is simply just despicable on a human level. This suspension is consistent with other players' punishments for violating the personal conduct code. To let him off would make the league and Commissioner look very hypocritical. The team said they'd punish him if the league didn't. |
