Re: Too FAT for Hooters?
I don't go to Hooters for the wings or any food for that matter. I go to see a pretty women with huge juggs run around in skimpy outfits and in return I help them pay for their college, drug fix, or their kids groceries.

If they loose the nylons they gain more of my business. |

If she doesn't realize they expect you to be fit at that job or meet a certain look....work somewhere else, lady. They should fire her for whining and the bad publicity. If she actually sues over this, good luck finding another job...everyone in the industry will be looking out for her. It's their business and they can run it how they want. It's not discrimination...they hired her. If she's not meeting their well-known standards that I'm sure she has a copy of in the company handbook...that's her problem, not theirs. I'm not a fan of the restaurant, but hey, it's their business and they can set the standards they expect from their employee just like any other business. If I started swapping out my ties for tie-tied shirts at my job, I'd expect a reprimand too...and I wouldn't even consider suing over it. Lady is looking for a quick payday and her 15 minutes.
Sorry, but this made me laugh. What industry? The "Pay-Me-To-Shake-My-Ass" industry? I guess stripping and porn is out for her. Life = over. :D |

Re: Too FAT for Hooters?
I'm sure, but if being a waitress is her life goal I think she's getting what she deserves...
Honestly, I would think that being hot with your knockers hanging out at like an Applebee's would be better tip-wise because you don't have any competition. |
You don't think local restaurant owners talk to each other? No one will hire her if they think she'll sue as soon as they make her work or comply with a simple request/rule. |

I am willing to bet a Hooters waitress in a metropolitan market makes around $50k a year. |

Have GMScud weigh in, I am sure he has seen it as well. You know who really makes bank, a Bell Man in a nice hotel. Never mind the tips the amount of kick backs they get from, tours, cabs, etc... is through the roof. |

Is this emaciated? (swimsuit pic, but linked in case people are at work) http://www.ruggedelegantliving.com/a/images/Miss.Utah.swimsuit.winner.jpg no, it's just someone who takes pretty good care of their body the girl in question isn't nasty, but whereas they could hire someone without even minor bulges in her waist and hip area (aka the muffin top) instead of continuing to employ her they've got a reason to protect their interests it's not like they just straight up fired her.. I'm sure they could find something that she'd done wrong at work and gone about it that way, they're giving her a chance hooters waitresses are less waitresses and more company models |

Yeah this sounds about right to me. Problem is they often have to pay for health insurance out of pocket. Restaurants are not known for providing the best health insurance, though admittedly I don't know what Hooters' benefits are like specifically. $50K for a company like Citi in a data analyst type role, or something like that, is worth a lot more than $50K from waiting tables at a typical restaurant. |

But you are right Citi job is a career so eventually over time that person will make more money. I am also just saying if you are looking for a well paying job that doesn't require a ton of education waiting tables or bartending may be a good route for you. I will add it is a lot of hard work and very stressful. |
