I did not know that MS had interest in Beck back then. It may bode well for him if he can make some plays in camp and in the preseason.
Hell he may be the future! ;)
I was suprised as well. I don't get the impression MS is the type to lie to players so when Brennan did his after cut interview and spoke highly of both Shanahan's and mentioned what MS supposedly said about Beck my first thought was perhaps Beck is better then everyone thinks and MS can get him to play well in his system. The way Brennan made it sound Beck is MS's guy and I was left with the impression that perhaps Beck might be the person to take over after McNabb since he was so infatuated with him. I hope this works: The LaVar Arrington Show with Chad Dukes – 08/3/10 5pm-6pm « 106.7 The Fan – DC Sportsradio click on the first segment and listen.
Can we include Beck? I can totally see him shining against the scrubs this preseason and getting everyone all hot and bothered.
Good point...I probably would have voted for him instead of armstrong |

Torain can't win this award, he's making the team, perhaps as high as #3 RB. |

Will be interesting to see what happens if the Skins do end up signing Westbrook. I'd guess Torain drops to #4 on the depth chart |
Re: The 2010 Marcus McCullough-Mix Award
Or, Westbrook is now a WR.

I do not think Beck is going to be anyones QB of the future. He did not look very sharp at all, not even a flash of sharpness! lol Also I am very interested to see Banks returning punts for the rest of the preseason. I know he flashed very well the other night, and I do hope we have found our PR gem in the UDFA class. He seemed to have better speed and burst then that of Austin who i hasd thought would be the better option but after Friday night it is all Banks for me. |
Re: The 2010 Marcus McCullough-Mix Award
Yeah, Beck had 4 incompletions and a sack to start the game, and a fumble somewhere in there as well. For a day where we were destroying them, he certainly cooled the fire. I'll wait until the next few weeks to make a judgement (ie. after he actually sees the playbook), but he did not look sharp at all.
Why would we care what happens to him anyway? Well, as stated above, we might have to use a spot on the roster for him if we want to keep him. And right now I don't think he's shown he's worth it. For example, if I had the choice between carrying Beck or Kelly on the roster, I'd choose Kelly in a heartbeat. |
