Re: We have an excellent opportunity to have a 2 game lead, at the end of week 10!!
For clarity sake, I want the Giants to beat Dallas Monday, I don't want Dallas to have any shot or life left. That said, this is exactly the type of game that the Giants will lose, and Dallas will lay 40 points down on them. Then Dallas will be SB favorites once again :vomit:
I was looking at the schedule as I routinely do...lol
And noticed that the next 4 weeks are going to be absolutely huge for this Redskins team,to take advantage of the schedule we have. All 3 teams in the Giants,Redskins and Eagles draw bye weeks during this time and I love the set up. If we can take care of business against the Bears and Lions on the road, which won't be easy...but certainly winnable games..we have a chance at taking the flag at the final turn. Currently we are in 3rd place in the Division. Giants are 4-2 Eagles are 4-2 Redskins are 3-3 and Dallas is 1-4 As much as I don't want to admit to it,I believe we want the Cowboys to beat the Giants and here's why. The redskins have a chance to go 5-3 before the Bye week..if we can beat the bears and Lions. The Giants play @Dallas,then have a bye...Then they go @Seattle, which I think Seattle can win cause we all know they always play like SB contenders at Quest field lol. Then the Giants face Dallas again but at home...Those are 3 games they very well can & and might lose. That would drop there record to 4-5 and being swept by Dallas and 0-2 in the division. Dallas has the Giants, then they have Jacksonville, then they play @ Green bay, then @ Giants again...If Dallas could sweep the Giants, that would give them 3 wins there...If they somehow could lose either the jags or packers game, they would be tied with the same record as the Giants with a 4-5 overall record and at best...5-4 at best and a 3-6 at worse and still sweeping the giants. The Eagles have @Tennessee then a bye week. Then they play the Colts and then our Redskins on Monday Night. They easily could lose all 3 games and a loss against us on Monday Night gives us a seep over them and they have a 4-5 record just like the Giants and possibly Cowboys. A best case scenario could look like this... So the standing would look like this after week 10... Redskins 6-3 (3-0 in Division) and 6-1 in Conference with sweep over Eagles Giants 4-5 (0-2 in Division) and 3-3 in Conference while swept by Dallas Eagles 4-5 (0-2 in Division) and a 3-3 in Conference while swept by Skins Cowboys 3-6 (2-1 in Division) and a 2-4 Conference while swept Giants Crazy..Isn't it? Well, that's how it will look if we win our next 3 games over Bears,Lions and Eagles Dallas beats Giants both times and loses to G.B. and Jaguars Eagles lose to Titans,Colts and Skins Obviously, the toughest part is us winning 3 games in a row..lol:):) Dallas beating the Giants twice very well could happen as the giants don't play them very well. Going @ G.B could see a loss for Dallas...The wild card is that Dallas and Jacksonville game..But we can still hope for dallas to play like we know they can in this one..lol I can see the eagles losing the next 3 easily..with Kolb or Vick.. Now why would this be huge at this part of the schedule? Because that very next week in week 11,we have the Redskins @ Tennessee Detroit @ Dallas and the Giants @ Eagles matchup One or the other in the Giants/Eagles gives 1 team 3 losses in the division in a loss here. We probably root for an eagles win here because we would have the sweep over them. It would also be their 1 division win, while we have 3 still.... So even if we lost to @Tennessee and were 6-4 and eagles win and go 5-5...we still carry a 1 game 1/2 lead over them with a sweep. Giants are in trouble here with a 4-6 record here and 0-3 in the division. (haven't even played us yet!) We beat the Titans and that would make things even sweeter going 7-3.
:postcop: |
Re: We have an excellent opportunity to have a 2 game lead, at the end of week 10!!
I honestly don't even bother looking ahead on the schedule. Teams get hot and cold so fast, a team that looks like a win right now could be playing totally different a few weeks from now, so it's tough to really gauge things more than a few games down the line.
We've got a good shot to be 5-3 at the bye, that's as far ahead as I'm looking right now. |

Go Skins. |
These threads are getting a bit ridiculous. I think back to 7th grade when I wrote a book report for English class. And admittedly I half-assed it but I just wrote and wrote and wrote so that at least it was several pages long.
And my teacher, who was a no-nonsense guy gave me a C on the report and wrote in the comments "SmootSmack, you write a lot...but you don't really say much" Ace, I would say the same about your threads. Tone it down some, you don't have to rush to start a thread every time. We should take things one game at a time in my opinion. We haven't shown yet that we can consistently be counted on to win the games we're "supposed" to win
Wait, your 7th grade teacher called you "Smootsmack?" |

Incredible, isn't it |
Re: We have an excellent opportunity to have a 2 game lead, at the end of week 10!!
Yeah ACE i cant defend you on this thread...way to much going on. We just need to focus on one game at a time. If we went 5-3 into the bye, I think we have easily exceeded many expectations.

Re: We have an excellent opportunity to have a 2 game lead, at the end of week 10!!
Well why do we have to focus on one game at a time its not like we are actually playing in the game. I think we need to start talking Playoffs.

So we need to chill on all these crazy scenarios and just watch the game sunday lol. One game at a time folks |

Slow down fella, one game at a time, breathe in, relax, breathe out, repeat. |

Re: We have an excellent opportunity to have a 2 game lead, at the end of week 10!!
Ace is 100% right!!! AND by the Week 17 we could be resting all of our players! Look: We play Philly 2* by then, Dallas 2 by then, and NYG once before it. We win all of those games, and the Dallas wins their other Division games, and NYG is 1-4 and Philly is 1-5 in the division(splitting with each other), and Dallas, NYG and Philly lose to every one else, and we beat everyone else, so we are 12 and 3 going into week 17, and the rest of the division is struggling to make .500. And so clearly we rest everyone for two weeks, and then demolish the Bears like we do this week, and then clear, at 14-3, we are SB bound (after demolishing the other team in the NFC Conference game.)
Oh and so then we obviously are SB champs, and I take the week off due to my amazing prognosticating ability!!!
ROFL... So you say there's a chance... |

Ace, always dreamin' and never keepin' it real.

UHHH .. how about one week at a time dude ... you can't predict all that madness .. i'm confident but aware that next 2 weeks will be tough tough games ... lions maybe harder than bears
