I like Torain a lot but he needs to work on a couple of things to make him great. Hold on to the football and pound the ball North-South, he seems to run a lot East-West and getting no gains. I'm sure he will get better.

I think Torain runs way too far laterally on some plays, which forces his blocking to give him a lane, otherwise he loses five yards.

But that defense is an excellent run defense. One of the best in football. Torain got better than 5 yards per carry against it. And he didn't have a passing game to take any pressure off him.

One suggestion: hold onto the ball, son.

Torain is doing a great job. He's not the RB of the future though IMO.

The line is doing a better job of opening some holes for our RB's. Now, w/ a head of steam, Torain is a tough guy to tackle. He's doing an awesome job hitting the hole and his yards after contact are nice. He's missed some things and doesn't have that home run speed. I'm not picking, just my opinion. He's doing a great job though and we're lucky to have him.

I love his running but he also needs to learn when to stay in and block. I have seen him on several plays run right by a blitz as he runs out for a pass knowing he was the last person between him and McScabb.

The future is now my friends. He is our Back for this year. I think portis will come in and they will have 2 featured backs this year. I seriously see us maknig a playoff run and if we can beat the giants there is no reason we do not steal the division. Mcnabb needs to step it up tho. Defense is easily playoff contenders, just need that O to step it up.

It is so nice to have a RB that's not tripping over his own damn feet once he gets 5 yds past the line of scrimmage. When's the last time we had a back with multiple 20+ yd runs in a game? If we could get the damn passing game going, we could really be dangerous.

yes early, but I love watching the guy run the ball. He runs hard, is a load to bring down, and will FINISH the run by punishing the DB's. He still has some to learn yes, but lets not forget the guy is only starting his 3rd game. He has looked pretty impressive the last two games. He may not be the home run hitter some guys may want, but I will take the 4 to 5 yard average per carry. The running game the last few weeks looks to be coming around. What i noticed yesterday too, was the fact he was in there on 3rd down a couple of times, and stepped up to pick up the blitz. I would like to see him on the field more on 3rd down. be more involved in the passing game.

I like the guy personally. He runs like he wants the job, and not for the check.

The east west stuff is designed stretch runs. I like the way he runs between the tackles. He may miss a couple of the holes on those stretch plays, but all in all i dont see how anyone can complain about the way the guy is running the ball. He is running the ball better than what we have seen the last year and half. He has only started 3 games. If he is running this effectively now, he should be a whole hell of a lot better the 2nd half of the season.

I would truly like to see a 2-back set with Portis and ATV in the backfield. (when Portis is healthy of course)

With our lack of WR talent...we could run a 2-back set with them,Moss and Armstrong on the outside and Cooley or Davis at TE.

(K.Williams could spell at times)

Not every down of course...lol
But occasionally...

We could pass down field in that formation with Portis Pass blocking...
We could run screens with this personel with either Portis or ATV
Cooley could stay in to block or run a pattern

We could run this out of the I or T...(or off-I's)
Plus we also have Sellers the beast lol

i like what someone else above said...he may not be THE rb of the future, but he sure as hell should be ONE of them.


i'm not ready to question his hands yet. he looked ugly in that department yesterday, but it might've been a case of contagious fumbling. it was one of those days...everyone was coughing up the ball yesterday!


my only concern with him is his health. that was the big issue with him in the first place. but if he stays healthy and improves his pass protection (marked improvement already, mind you), then he could pan out incredibly here as a back.

When we were working with Portis, Parker, Johnson, Williams and Torain to start the preseason, I remember saying ATV was the best back on the roster. I was stretching at the time........I still may be.

I don't think he is the future. We need someone more athletic that can get around the tackles. I think Portis will regain his starting job if he can get healthy.

Torain is too slow on sweeps and stretch plays. it's only a matter of time before defenses stack the middle gaps and stop the run.

When was the last time Clinton Portis was facing the prospect of running for three hundred yard games in a row? Unless Ryan Torain goes down with an untimely injury, no way Portis regains his starting job back.

If Torain keeps this up there's simply no way Portis takes the job back. I think it's still a stretch that Portis comes back this year anyway, it's going to take a while before he's 100%.

I'm not too concerned with his fumbles, the Bears are the best in the league at getting their fists on the ball. I give them the credit rather than blame Torain. It's not as if he was fumbling after hits, the Bears defenders just made great plays on the ball.
