Re: NFL Draft Day 2: Predictions
No GB picked OT from MSU

No he wasn't. Packers took Derek Sherrod at #32. Seems to me that stuffing the run up the middle has to be a big priority. Not sure if the remaining D-linemen are suited for a NT in the 3-4 though. Still, we have so many needs, I don't think I'll be disappointed in any position they decide to take.
Sorry about that. I could have swore I saw the draft tracker show Bowers. I had turned the TV off right after NE got yet another 1st round pick for next year...lol |
I'd like to see:
#41 Kaepernick Colin Kaepernick - 2011 Draft Tracker - SI.com #49 Powe Jerrell Powe - 2011 Draft Tracker - SI.com
Actually, I'd like to see someone get really stoked that Kaepernick's still on the board and offer us next year's #1 for the pick. Barring that, Kaepernick. |
Re: NFL Draft Day 2: Predictions
San Fransisco is the only one i think that might take Dalton. So i think we get him though with the 41 and trade down with the 49
|
Re: NFL Draft Day 2: Predictions
^^ Yeah, I can see us moving down in the 2nd and picking up a couple of 3rds or at least a 3rd and a 4th
|
Re: NFL Draft Day 2: Predictions
Sorry for posting twice in a row but if Dalton is there we can trade down because no teams after us in the second round want a quarter back. I don't think Miami picks.
|
Re: NFL Draft Day 2: Predictions
after the 2nd we don't pick again until the 5th? Is that right?
|
41: Dalton
49: Paea
i second that. |
Re: NFL Draft Day 2: Predictions
I would scratch Bowers off the board completely. The fact that he's fallen this far already says a lot.

i disagree. it would be a steal to get him in the 2nd round, for any team really. 2 months ago he was projected #1 overall. now people are worried about an injury and a workout. he will end up being very good in this league, i think people are overreacting and forgetting about his college body of work and his physical abilities. he could be a good 3-4 defensive end. plus, in the second round it'd be worth a shot i think. |

These guys have to go through medical examinations with doctors, and my guess is the report wasn't good at all which is exactly why he's fallen so much. Probably why his agent was publicly lobbying for him too. NFL draft 2011: Agent says Da'Quan Bowers' knee is not an issue - ESPN
It's the second time agent Joe Flanagan has sent an email to ESPN.com denying there is major damage to Bowers' knee. He had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in January.
|

Two words for you: Malcolm Kelly. |
Re: NFL Draft Day 2: Predictions
I'd be thrilled with bowers , Adrian Peterson had medical concerns also..
|
Re: NFL Draft Day 2: Predictions
Several teams have scratched him off their boards. His knee is obviously a big concern with a lot of teams.

Re: NFL Draft Day 2: Predictions
I think Bowers was the man we wanted at the 16 spot but to be safe we went with Kerrigan.
Bowers is a good kid and a great talent but I understand playing the safe card. |
Re: NFL Draft Day 2: Predictions
I have a group of guys on my board that I hope we take a look at.
Andy Dalton QB Ricky Stanzi QB Ryan Mallet QB Marvin Austin DT Ryan Williams RB Torry Smith WR Leonard Hankerson WR Stephen Paea DT Stefen Wisniewski C Although I like the listed qb's, I would rather us not pick up a Quarterback until later in the draft. We should build the talent base for the rest of the team first. We have too many wholes to draft any qb and give them true success. |
