Most importantly (something many fans today are to young to remember) the feeling that each week we were gonna kick the shit outta' somebody and NO MATTER what the score, we could...and would come back to win.
I did not DREAD game day but looked forward to it.....imagine that?
I made a boat load of $$$ on that team......
I totally agree. That team could grind out a win by running the ball if needed or they could win in a shoot-out if that's what was needed. They were a team that had it all and knew how to use it.
I remember Brad Edwards body rocking Andre Reed, and Reed getting all pissed.

Best team ever?In 2010, ESPN conducted a "super league," consisting of the best Super Bowl winning teams of all time; the 1991 Redskins finished the regular season in first place with record of 14-2 and beat the 1992 Dallas Cowboys in the league finals to be named the greatest team of all time[3].
Reed screwed up bad on that play because he whipped off his helmet and sent it bouncing across the field. I believe that penalty took them out of field goal range.

I had just started serving in Germany, didn't see many games if any at all. Really hasn't ever been the same as the late 80's celebrating down in DC. It would be nice if BA and MS could bring some of that same swagger back to DC. I know this town is itchin to explode with a SB win!

Totally different personalities on the surface, but Gibbs & Shanny have a lot in common in terms of team building, they both value character as much as talent. This team is far from being a contender, but we're starting to see a positive identity under MS. I think he'll want to stay here a while & bring back the tradition.

Great memories, greatest team of all time.

Mid-twenties, remember watching the Falcons playoff game at a bar in Alexandria, great win, great time. The night before SB XXVI (can't go into detail on a family friendly forum) but I vaguely recall being on Wisc. Ave. and someplace that rhymes with Wood Flys....then to cap off the weekend with a huge SB win, couldn't have been better.

You'll get your chance bro. The Skins are on their way back. I do feel your pain tho.

I remember everytime the ball was thrown long it was almost a automatic TD. A magical time to say the least.

The Hogs and wides had much to do with it but I never saw anybody throw the long ball better than Ryp. Truly a thing of beauty....

Damn right it was the best team ever!! I'm glad ESPN had the balls to recognize it. The final score doesn't reflect the ass wiping Buffalo got, the Redskins tackling was unbelievable, they looked like they were glued to the offensive players.
