Why not have them both back there? Maybe run a little trick reverse every now and then. While we've got them both, we may as well put them both to use.

So if we have picks in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th rounds, and we're expected to get another 3rd rounder from the Gardner trade, I'd like to see us do the following:

Move down a few notches in the 1st round, picking up a 1st and a 2nd/3rd rounder.
Trade two third round picks (maybe even toss in a 5th rounder) for a reasonably high second rounder. We can then get two quality players who can step in and contribute immediately.

Brown isn't just fast he can stop and go on a dime, the guy defiently has moves and that's the biggest key the ability to make people miss and not just out run them, the first time I saw him run I was shocked I couldn't believe we were able to pick this kid up for nothing, I also knew it was by, by, Morton, he doesn't need to be a WR he just need's to return kick's, if he eventually work's his way into a wr great but the first time I saw him run I said sign him fast this kid is the good's.

Chad Morton is a Kick Returner. Bottom line, he's not a punt returner, if my memory serves me correct, I dont think he ever did punts in NY. I dont know what the cap issues are, but if Morton dosent save anything, I say we keep both of them back there on kick returns and let Antonio Brown do the punts. Now that would be a dangerous KO return team right there.

Darrell Green's 40 time
 

Someone wanted to know Darrell Green's time in the 40. I read from a tract at my church that Green ran his 40 in 4.17 seconds. That's pretty darn fast, although I've heard of better times (like 4.09 for Alexander Wright, a KR/WR for the Cowboys and Raiders in the mid '90s). In addition to learning that he won the NFL's fastest man competition three times, I heard from a source (whose accuracy I can't confirm) that Green actually beat Deion Sanders in a 40 yard dash when Sanders joined the team '99.

Folks, up until this year we had a guy on the roster named Cliff Russell who was a speed burner (fastest in camp) and he never saw the field because - even when he was healthy, he could not catch the ball. Venus de Milo has better hands! Maybe - just maybe - Brown has the same kind of problem? We don't know because we haven't seen him have to make a catch yet - but sometime in practice the coaches have to have see that.


Many years ago, the Eagles drafted and signed a guy named Frank Budd. He was the NCAA 100-yard dash champion AND he won the Olympic medal in the 100-meters. He was the world's fastest human at the time; he beat Bob Hayes world record. Did you ever hear of him as an NFL player? I doubt it because he only played in a handful of games. The reason he could not make it in the NFL was that the only way he could catch a ball was if it got jammed in his faceguard.


Speed is very, very important for a WR. That is why I continue to be worried about Coles and his future as a #1 WR. But speed alone is useless - - just as great hands would be useless on a WR with the speed of a Derrick Dockery.

I think DG won four times. That fastest man competition was quite an event back in the day, televised even, with Green, Willie Gault, Herschel Walker, among others.

I Remember A Competition A While Ago That Green Won. I Beleive It Was The Worlds Fastest Athlete. It Had Baseball Players, Track And Feild Athletes And Football Players. It Had Events Like Base Running And Sprints With Football Pads On.i Dont Think They Do That Kind Of Stuff Anymore

I would just like to add that Hester runs faster than a 4.29, I can assure you or this.

Morton is probably gone, and hopefully Brown can step up and make plays. Speed isnt everything but it sure helps with a returner.
