Re: RGIII Ready to Report (Signs Deal)
So last night I was told RGIII would sign by Noon today, turned out to be much sooner and that LeRibeus will most likely be done by end of day tomorrow. Guess we'll see

Re: RGIII Ready to Report (Signs Deal)
Good. This will help Griffin to compete for the backup job behind Crompton.

True. Perhaps the FO made the determination that the precedent it was setting would not necessarily govern the vast majority of future contracts it expects to negotiate (I'm a lawyer so am always focused on whether prior precedent is actually on point). Does anyone know whether offset language is typically (or has ever been) included in the contracts of non-rookie free agents? |

Re: RGIII Ready to Report (Signs Deal)
He probably signed because I was wearing my adidas 'RGIII' shirt last night.
The cynic in me wants to say that RGIII was waiting till after the release of the Adidas ad to sign. Of course, maybe he didn't want to be distracted once at camp, and it did give Cousins a couple of alone days with the coaches, so all in all I am sure it's all good. |
Re: RGIII Ready to Report (Signs Deal)
Redskins signed No. 2 overall pick Robert Griffin III to a four-year, $21.119 million contract.
The deal is fully guaranteed, includes a $13.7 million signing bonus, has a team option for a fifth year and contains no offset language. Robert Griffin III - Washington Redskins - 2012 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com |
Re: RGIII Ready to Report (Signs Deal)
Well I awoke to good news this morning!
Who the hell does this LeRebius guy think he is?!? He still hasn't signed, before our first rounder! I know his deal is supposed to get done soon, but still. |

I'd have to assume it'd be expensive, thus giving reason to draft and sign an extension. |

I like the way you think. I'm glad a deal finally got done. |

alot cheaper than using the franchise tag. still, i cant remember a good QB ever playing a season under the tag. |
