Re: Romo not that good - Theismann
Having Tony Romo for a QB is like nailing the prom queens butchy looking sister instead of the prom queen.

Re: Romo not that good - Theismann
Romo has ability but being a good QB is about more than being smart enough to know the offense and physically able enough to execute it. You still have to have the demeanor and personality to make the right decisions when the bullets are firing. He isn't very good at that.

Re: Romo not that good - Theismann
Tony Romo is an above average QB. That is all he is. He can put up numbers but never can put up wins. He has not been very impressive this year at all. The Cowboys put up 16 points against Tampa... Redskins put up 24 with a rookie QB who honestly is playing better than Romo.
Once you put expectations on him, he never preforms. If you have none for him than he plays very well. He is nothing special. Just happens to play for the Cowboys. |

I'm all in if the prom queen watches. |
Re: Romo not that good - Theismann
Romo isn't exactly a bad QB. He's a good QB who had a really bad game. As many bad games as Theismann has had towards the end of his career especially, he really shouldn't talk. But I understand where he's coming from. New York Giant fans are bragging so much about Eli Manning, his 21 comeback wins and 2 Super Bowl wins, that they hate the comparisons between Manning and Romo. After Romo threw all those picks the other day, they don't want to hear anymore comparisons between those two QBs. What the Giants fans fail to realize is that Eli Manning has looks as dreadful as Romo did this last game every once in a while.
This is the same guy that thought Jason Campbell was a good QB? Yeah, he doesn't have a clue apparently about good QBs.
Look, Joe is my favorite Redskin QB ever. I am too young to have seen Sammy Baugh play. Joe knows about winning Super Bowls and he knows what he is talking about. Romo is horrible. Romo threw the ball up "softly"/"cowardly" in Dez's general area and it's a pick six, Romo's specialty. So what Dez didn't adjust his route (bad coaching) but that ball was gonna be picked anyway. Film study told Tillman the safety blitz was gonna cause this clown to loft a pick 6 out there (bad coaching). Pick sixes and lofting soft balls when pressured, are tendacies of Romo. |
Re: Romo not that good - Theismann
Yes its only a 4 game sample, but doesn't RG3 seem to make much better decisons than Romo with the football? I use to worry so much everytime Sexy Rexy went back to pass that he would make the right decision because on TV you can't see the secondary, until the throw, but RG3 has sort of eliminated that fear as I watch games now. Miles Austin makes Romo look good at times when Romo makes a bad throw, but Dez does not and that's what killed Romo on Monday night.

Re: Romo not that good - Theismann
Theisman can always say I didn't say he wasn't good, I said he wasn't "very good". Because he likes to pretend like he's super smart football man. The organization seems pretty dysfunctional, so I think everyone has to give Romo some credit. Jerry seems kinda insane from a distance?

Having Romo as a QB is like taking the prom queen to prom. Getting her in the bedroom later, getting almost there, then she says no. Can excite you but never satisfies you. |
I dont disagree with Joe, but out of habit i will anyway. Joe sucks. Tony Romo can make throws with his left hand that Joe couldnt even pretend to make with his right. Tony takes chances. Joe think's he's god's gift to us. screw him.
I will have to admit JT is a little on the......mouthy side, BUT I do not think you.......Know Joe. Joe Theismann - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Highly talented in everything he has done....... |
I lived in Dallas for 9 years, and I am friends with many Cowboys fans. My general impression is that Romo is underrated by the fans, not overrated. I hear Cowboys fans often say how much Romo sucks, and I'm constantly reminding them what their team was like with Quincy Carter and Drew Bledsoe. During the time between Aikman and Romo the Cowboys were one of the worst teams in the league.
I think Romo is good, but not good enough to meet the media/public expectations. |
