Re: Ken Lucas to Carolina - $13 Million Bonus
Has Smoot visited another team??
Cos im over in the UK all the info i get is from ESPN and Fox and they haven't mentioned Smoot visiting another team to the best of my knowledge. The longer he is a FA the more chance i think we have of him staying. |

Smoot was apparently visiting KC today
http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?BRD=1675&dept_id=18170&newsid=14080411&PAG=461&rfi=9
Chiefs public relations director Bob Moore said an announcement of a signing for Trotter or the other free agents the club met with wasn’t imminent Thursday night but that the team was negotiating with a portion of the group. Cornerback Samari Rolle (Titans) and middle linebacker Ed Hartwell (Ravens) also visited the Chiefs. Linebacker Kendrell Bell (Steelers) and cornerback Fred Smoot were scheduled to visit today.
|
Re: Ken Lucas to Carolina - $13 Million Bonus
I'd prefer to keep Smoot versus getting Rolle. Smoot is younger. Smoot is better than Ken Lucas and Anthony Henry and so he deserves more than they got. Smoot loves the Redskins and is a locker room leader. And by keeping Smoot, we'd be telling our guys that we place a premium on players who perform and want to be here. I've had enough of going outside the organization for players when we've got them here already.
I concur I think we should sign a younger Smoot. The AP said losing Pierce generated shockwaves and calls from 3 Redskin veterans....What kind of a message does that send to the players attempting to stay with the organization.........hopefully, they can come up with a way to re-sign Smoot. |

Fuck the Redskins. Do what's best for you. They certainly are!
