Re: Skins 38 Browns 21 post game thread
I'm going to enjoy this for the rest of the day. Soooo glad we didn't overlook the Browns. As big as the final score was, that was a very tough fight today. Congrats to the whole team for playing lights out today.

You know what I wonder. And in and of itself it's a very minor useless point, but will Rookie of the Year voters hold this win against RG3 when trying to decide between him and Luck (and Wilson)?
God damn these Shanahans! Holding this team back! We need to hire Jim Schwartz or Jeff Fischer to turn this team around! With their help, we can get 1st place in the division......oo....wait.
He's obviously holding the team back because it's not fair for the rest of the league to face a Redskin team thats trying their best. Heck Shanahan signed off on the $36 million in cap penalties because he's a huge believer in parity and fairness. He also sicked Alderick Robinson on Merriweather a few weeks back and designed the play last week where Griffin got hurt against the Ravens. On top of that he has spiked every beverage Haslet has had on gameday. |

Then next week if we win and Ravens win v.s. Giants would we clinch division. |

If skins win one more and giants lose one more we win the east. But if Dallas wins out they win it |
Coming in to this game I wasn't quite sure why some folks had such a hard-on over the Browns. They are horrible.
Just to answer your question from the game day thread, I was pretty nervous about this game coming in. Kirk played ok in relief in the ATL game, but he did make some rookie mistakes that led to a couple of picks. The Browns have a very formidable defense, and tbh, I still don't trust our defense to play a complete 60 minutes. I thought if Kirk played the way he did in the ATL game we would lose. Like I said in the game day thread, I will gladly eat some crow here, because he did exactly what he needed to do to win. The first few minutes had us all nervous, but he showed an ability to forget about it and move on. The coaches definitely did their part in calling the right plays and helping him make adjustments, and it obviously worked. The Browns took away the run all day, and basically said if we were going to win, it would be on Kirk. And obviously Kirk was comfortable taking control and making plays, so kudos to him. With all that said, I think we'll need RG3 these next two weeks so hopefully he's ready to go. Two more to go, and it's unbelievable to think that if we win these next two weeks, we will be 7 weeks removed from being 3-6 and looking like a bottom feeder. |
Holy Shite, Holy Shite, we are in the division lead, lord have mercy Holy shite!!! I'm gonna go drink Orlando FL out of bourbon now and take my pants off every chance I get. See you guys Monday.

Hail Yeah!!!! Pretty pumped.
Nice job by Cousins surviving the 1st quarter, and playing a great game for the next three. I was pretty nervous through the first 15 minutes. We looked off and the game seemed so kinda blah. But one hell of a turn around after that. Really played great ball all around. They took away the run, and made Cousins beat the through the air. Definately a great job by him to adjust and make big plays. |

Re: Skins 38 Browns 21 post game thread
Maybe the most impressive/important win of the season so far.
- Took the whole team pulling together with RG out - Trap game...doesn't this seem like a game we would typically lose? - It's good for RG too, and not just time to heal up. He got to see the offense operate a little different and see all the guys step up. - Play-calling was brilliant today. Best of the season IMO. The worrisome things are penalties and (still) questionable pass protection. The penalties are kind a wtf item...Mike is known for running a tight ship yet we look extremely undisciplined. Talented, but undisciplined. And the pass protection sucks until we get the defense back on it's heals; however, today we showed this can be done without the pistol/read option. Play action, bootleg and play-calling were enough. If penalties/discipline and (early) pass protection improve I'd like to think we can compete with any team in the NFC... |
