I think the question should be Kerrigan or Rob Jackson?
Again I'd take both. Jackson is a great backup, but I think we might be getting a little carried away with thinking he can be a full time guy and better than Kerrigan or Rak. |
Re: Russel Wilson or Bob
Not to hijack the thread but since some of you guys are talking pass rushers. I want to see more Doug Worthington, he made some nice plays yesterday.

Re: Russel Wilson or Bob
I would not have gave up that much for RG3 and I said it when we did it. But what's done is done. He's the reason we're number one in rushing and he's a huge reason why we're in the position we're in. My only concern with RG3 is will he become a polished pocket passer. His style of play will shorten his career. We were VERY lucky that knee didn't snap into pieces.

Re: Russel Wilson or Bob
Russell Wilson is playing great ball. He just doesn't get the media hype that RG3 does. Great value pick by Seattle.
I think the more relevant question facing the Skins is Orakpo or Rob Jackson?
In part, the hyping of Jackson seems to me to be endemic of a fan base used to the lack of depth. Jackson is a solid player. He is a great 3rd or 4th OLB but an average to good starter. He represents something this team has lacked for so long - a home grown sub who has had time to marinate w/in the system. He works hard, belongs in the NFL and is ready to step in on game day. At the same time, he is not anywhere near Rak's talent level (or, IMHO, Kerrigan's for that matter). If Jackson goes elsewhere, he will not be nearly as good as he is here. Bank on it. |
Seriously? Orakpo. And you need Rob Jackson as depth; not as a starter.
As for Russell Wilson or RG3; Obviously RG3. Russell has a better defense, gives me more scoring opportunities. I posted an article by Adam Schefter about a week ago saying that the Redskins were planning on drafting Wilson with the pick they chose Cousins with. Imagine that one for a second..
Sir, you may need to get in the film room. Jackson is pretty good and seems to be getting better by experience. |
Re: Russel Wilson or Bob
I would give up another 1st rounder for Griffin in hindsight. Come on Man!

Jackson is a great backup, but I think we might be getting a little carried away with thinking he can be a full time guy and better than Kerrigan or Rak.
Well I think its still relevant cause the FO did try to move Rak a couple times. I think we should resign Jackson and wait to see if this injury for Rak is gonna continue. I do like both together. |

When did we try to move Rak? I vaguely remember the notion being raised but I am not sure I ever knew they had seriously pursued it. |

I think that's a little overblown. He was a potential chip on the table, but it's not as if they were actively seeking to move him. |

Will he become a polished pocket passer? Really? But I agree with you with the concern of his style of play. I must say though that typically, the athletic QBs don't ever become polished pocket passers and their style of play puts then at risk for injuries. RGIII just needs realize his toughness is tougher than his body. He's not far from being a polished pocket passer. But then again, don't they have great OLs? |

He was leveraged in the deal with the Rams instead of this past year's 2nd round pick if I remember correctly. |
Re: Russel Wilson or Bob
Jackson is fine..good player. He doesn't bring the same type of effect to the game that Rak does. Teams have to game plan for Orakpo and Kerrigan. Guys like Jackson share in the spoils of having game plans that ignore them. That's a how a good unit is built. Have some top guys who carry the load in terms of the others team's focus and have capable guys who can capitalize on that. Just look at Pittsburgh for years. They didn't have 11 pro-bowlers on defense they had 3 to 4 really really good players and a bunch of other guys good enough to make plays that exist because of those really really good players.

Really? You sure that isn't just speculation? Even if... Not sure I consider leveraging him to help get our franchise QB meaning anything other than they really wanted to get RGIII. Not that they're really interested in moving him. |
Re: Russel Wilson or Bob
Honestly I'm not even concerned about RG3's ability to transition over time to a pocket passer.
That said, for the next few years his legs will remain a huge weapon and he should still use them when needed. We've already seen the designed runs drastically cut down and he's been much smarter about getting out of bounds. He's only running a handful of times per game now mostly on scrambles when the pocket breaks down. |
