To me, the outrage over the video is somewhat naïve. I mean really, do you know the force it takes to knock someone unconscious? Even for few moments? For someone, anyone, to be turned into a sack of potatoes like the fiancé was, that takes some serious, brutal force. To me, the video is what I thought had happened. (In my younger days, I knocked guys out once or twice and each time my fist hurt like hell).

Ray Rice is NOT entitled to 2014 salary as a vested veteran. Must be on 53-man roster at season start; he was on the suspended list.

I bet those ravens fans who gave him a standing ovation at training camp and during their preseason games are feeling a little guilty right now.

When the story was first told it sounded more like he pushed her and she hit her head. That was the story Rice and his wife were saying. You can in the video see her hitting her head. Plus there wasn't a picture of her face with damage.

Because the prosecutor went so light on him, the NFL sent so light on him, and that was both of their stories I really didn't expect a punch like that.

I don't know why coming across stuff like this surprises me anymore:

She clearly came at him 0:33. He was backed into a corner.

Lol she deserved it too be honest. She knew he was an athlete and that he was physically stronger, yet she still had the audacity to strike him not once but three times?? Even if Ray could've restrained her him hitting her was warranted cause she hit him. The woman should've figured what could've happened.

Thatd what she gets, all that she is just a women bullshit is trash, maybe some of your mothers were abused or something but the fact of the matter is a lady should know her lane, she should know when to shut the fuck up. He pays the bills so she should shut up and if she cant stand it just leave. She had it coming. Wanna act like a man you gunna get treated like a man.

I'm willing to bet that those fans are using the exact same backwards rationalization methods as the geniuses in the quoted post I got from YouTube.

Hopefully his career is over. His play was already trending down and he's nearing 30. Now with all this drama who would want him?

You've lived in Baltimore, right? I've said it before - there is a significant part of the Ravens' fan population that are simply Eagle fan wannabees.

I guess. I hope that is the explanation.

Someone Is Lying About Whether The NFL Saw The Ray Rice Tape

Here's SI's Peter King, back in July:

There is one other thing I did not write or refer to, and that is the other videotape the NFL and some Ravens officials have seen, from the security camera inside the elevator at the time of the physical altercation between Rice and his fiancée.

And here's ESPN's Chris Mortensen, also from July.

We saw the TMZ video of what happened outside—when he was dragging her out unconscious—but inside, I'm told from those who have seen the video, it wasn't pretty. In fact, she attacks him—we don't know the reason why—and he strikes her, strikes her hard. And her head—according to the sources I've spoken to—struck the rail inside the elevator and she was unconscious.
You've lived in Baltimore, right? Ravens fans (not all, obviously, but a vocal portion of them) will support anything their players do but will jump all over the slightest perceived slight against them.
I was just shocked that my coworker, the biggest ravens ball licker ever, actually agreed with them releasing him. But sure enough, the fact that rice didn't play particularly well in '13 played into his opinion.

I know we all give passes to our guys to a certain extent, but this is the same fan base that worships ray lewis, a guy who very likely had a hand in the murder of two men.
