Re: Josh Doctson to IR
Holy hell, the sky is falling in this thread too. Take it easy chicken little Chico. Just because it's an injury that puzzles doctors now doesn't mean it won't heal and doesn't mean it's permanently debilitating.
We've known this was coming. Let's hope he gets well. If he's still not better come February then there's cause for alarm, and it will change our plans in free agency. No need to panic yet. |
Re: Josh Doctson to IR
Nonsurgical Treatment Options
Most cases are successfully treated non-surgically although this is time-consuming and frustrating for active patients. Treatment is less likely to be successful if symptoms have been present more than six months. Nonsurgical management includes nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, rest, immobilization, limitation of activity, ice, contrast baths, stretching and heel lifts. If symptoms fail to resolve after two to three months, a formal physical therapy program may be of benefit. An arch support may help if there is an associated flatfoot. A cast or brace to completely rest this area may be necessary. Extracorporeal shockwave therapy and platelet-rich plasma injections have variable reports of success. Nitroglycerin medication applied to the overlying skin may be of benefit. Re: Josh Doctson to IR
Oh well... if he bounces back, and plays well next year it will be like an extra 1st round pick IF he pans out and plays up to potential... otherwise i really hope it doesnt go down as a wasted 1st rounder

Re: Josh Doctson to IR
He'll be fine, I know people think he's Malcolm Kelly Jr. He's not, get over it.

Re: Josh Doctson to IR
How many Achilles injuries have been rehabbed in a quick manner? This isn't surprising, and one injury doesn't mean he's injury prone. I like the move, now instead of trying to rush it he can focus on being fully healthy for next year.

This does suck. When u think of how we could used the pic otherwise and I believe the Texans pick is actually doing well.

Love me some skywalker |
Re: Josh Doctson to IR
I'm glad they're shutting him down. This was a pick for next year and the future. Excited to see him play when he's ready.

Re: Josh Doctson to IR
Maurice Harris out of Cal takes his roster spot.

Re: Josh Doctson to IR
So what do we do with DJax and Garçon next year? Rely on Doctson and his potential and part with one or both of them? Hard call with Doctson's not being able to see the field at all this year.

Re: Josh Doctson to IR
4-2 without Josh and good protection if we can't re-sign one or both of Jackson/Garcon. Next year it will be like having 2 1st round picks, plus we already have extra picks, and are in good salary cap condition as far as I'm aware. We should be able to load up pretty good next season. I think we're a borderline playoff team this year, and a definite playoff team next year. Httr! Beat Detroit! Five in a row!
