I'm mildly interested in this game. I should record it because I'll probably fall asleep before halftime. Nah, I'm not gonna record it.
Right now I would pay Payne and trade Sweat. Payne is far more consistent and disruptive.
Agreed 100% about Payne being more consistent and disruptive but the return on Payne would be greater too. We have Allen, and Mathis going forward. I think that trading Payne to fill some other holes would be more fruitful. Not sure what we would get in return for Sweat.
Of course if GM Ron had kept Settle and drafted a fuckin LB or corner or LT this wouldn’t be an issue. Instead he let a young DT go to draft a DT cus he is a horses ass.

Anyway back to this game. This is one of four games left on our schedule that we have a real chance to win, obviously any given Sunday blah blah but this is a team that struggles like us. Im not sure I want to win. Is winning 4-5 games really the answer? We literally need a top 2 pick to either deal or get a quarterback. Which leads me back to seeing if Howell is the guy. At some point id imagine that the staff is wondering the same thing.
So in conclusion, winning is ok and losing is ok so we cant lose!
Tale of the Tape
Commute Times:
Chicago: 58.5 minutes
DC: 60.42 minutes
Advantage: Draw (not going to split hair about 2 minutes)

Famous Comedian:
Chicago: Bill Fucking Murray
DC: Dave Chapelle

Biased but advantage DC

Drinks
Chicago: The Old Fashioned
DC: The Rickey

Advantage Chicago

Food:
Chicago: Deep Dish Pizza
DC: Half smoke
Now I like my meat of questionable pig and cow origin stuffed into a hog casing as much as the next man but I think this is advantage Chicago

Prediction: Chicago with a 1 point victory where Washington runs out of time for a comeback like Sunday, set up by a questionable Dax Milne return that results in a longer commute time for a game winning drive and then I will bitch about the two minutes.
great post!

Fields coming off perhaps his best game. I refuse to believe there is a curse for Ohio St QB's.. lol. Idk about this one, it's going to be close. If we lose to the Bears then someone may get fired. If Turner has another bad game then my guess is it'd be him.

Re: Pre Game Thread - Manders vs Da Bears

This is from a Bears site, all I have to say is dear good that 2007 game sounds awful. Sadly I do recall it. I was at a farm club monthly meeting and listened to what was remaining of the game on the radio on the drive home: https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2022/10/12/23398032/week-6-game-preview-chicago-bears-washington-commanders-carson-wentz-terry-mclaurin

The last time these teams met on a Thursday night (and the only time) was back in week 14 of the 2007 season.

Each team cycled through two quarterbacks as starters Jason Campbell and Rex Grossman were replaced by Todd Collins and Brian Griese, respectively.

That’s four Bears quarterbacks in one Thursday night game. Wow.

The game featured 11 punts, two interceptions (both by Griese, on consecutive Bears’ drives), a fumble and three missed field goals.

Washington won 24-16.

I hope we win just to see the false hope and dreams and talk about only being 3 games back in October. The kool aid will be sipped on until it is being guzzled and the Packers will be coming to town for a code red. I will be laughing at it on the post game thread but secretly looking at every game and believing there is a path to 10 wins because the team actually loves Ron and goes balls to the wall fighting for his job.

Not a closet Bears fan but how can you not be a Walter Payton fan.It still pisses me off refreezerator Perry got a td in the SB but Payton didn’t.If memory serves, I think Payton’s last game was against the skins in the playoffs, we won the game and I was a little sad because it was going to be Peyton’s last game, my memory could be wrong but that’s how I remember it.
As for this game I am not going to watch it because if I do I will find myself pulling for the skins, and at this point we are not going to make the playoffs, and I think it’s going to take losing every game before Snyder gets rid of Rivera

You remember correctly. And Payton's last carry ended up short of a first down as he was mashed out of bounds and ended up under the Bears bench. And it was a playoff game (remember, we used to play in those).

WJ3 not traveling with team and is out. Another frustrating signing by RR. Might be most frustrating due to size of his contract and dead weight value

How can yall not watch? If I have something going on, some commitment okay. I dvr then quick view a few games a year.

Sundays is about lining up your food menu, making business decisions on how much you wanna drink a day before work Monday .. and basically the only 4 hours or so a week I am in charge of my house.
