Re: Batman Begins
anyone getting the dvd today? I can't wait to get off work and pick up my preordered copy. oh and the new rumors about the casting of the Joker r Paul Bettany the announcer type dude from a Knight's Tale aka Mr. Jennifer Connely, Crispin Glover aka George Mcfly, and the big shocker of Michael Keaton. Plus there r those like myself who also like the idea of Mark Hamill who did a perfect job on the voice of the character for the cartoons.
Maybe he will have a Joker light saber, and they can duel. |
Re: Batman Begins
I think Jason Lee could do a great Joker.
I know I'm a tool for quoting myself but in retrospect Jason Lee COULD be, "My name is Joker." Never rub another man's rhubarb is quote possibly the funniest quote ever. Hell, I'd take an aging Jack Nicholson. |
Re: Batman Begins
Ugh, I'm sick of Batman. I was really hoping that Joel Schumacher ran this series into the ground, never to return.
|
Re: Batman Begins
You don't think he revived it with this last one?

I'm pretty sure Schumacher had nothing to do with 'Begins' -- the look of this new one is so far from the ridiculous scripts, cinematography, characters and acting of the last two disasters he made. No cast could possibly be more embarassing than George Clooney, Jim Carrey, Uma Thurman, Alicia Silverstone (though admittedly, she was easy on the eyes) and Arnold Schwarzenegger in 'Batman Forever' and 'Batman and Robin'. In any case, how there could be a fifth Batman movie after he got through destroying this franchise is totally beyond me. |

cuz with the hopeful revival of the superman series as well, warner bros want to have a Batman/Superman movie. |
Re: Batman Begins
nolin did the comic justice... i like the overall dark tone. the writing was excellent, and the casting was on point (except for katie holmes).
bettany would be a perfect joker- if you want to see him play crazy, rent "gangster no. 1" |

I actually liked Batman Forever, but certainly the first Batman was by far the best. Batman Begins has completely nothing to do with the others. |
Re: Batman Begins
I'm going to try to pick up my copy tomorrow.

Re: Batman Begins
I just saw it.
Excellent script. Authentic. Gotham looked great. The director is loyal to the story of Batman, and not in love with his own vision (like Burton and Schulmacher.) And it has Katie, pure and wholesome, sans T.C.'s brainwashing |
Re: Batman Begins
I bought it yesterday, I'll be watching it this weekend, can't wait!

Re: Batman Begins
Matty, honestly it was one of the best flick I've seen in years. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
I mean it was so good that at the end, I was like "when is the sequel coming out". |
Re: Batman Begins
I thought it was really good, but also really dark. I went to see it with some other guys and came home to tell my wife that our 8 year old son could not see it until he gets a little older. Too dark for kids. I did not say that about the earlier Batman movies, but this one is truly scary, which is how I aways liked and saw Batman. You know, the Frank Miller Batman.

Re: Batman Begins
I just watched it tonight, loved it. Easily the best of any of the Batman movies. This one finally did the series justice and got the franchise back on track.
