I’m starting to have a bad feeling about this game. After losing a close on to Philly, the interviews I’ve seen make the team seem like they were satisfied with it being close and disappointed they didn’t pull off an upset. But not anger or fired up that they let an opportunity slip through their fingers. So this week feels like business as usual. (And for us, for the last few decades, that hasn’t been good.). Dallas, on the other hand, seems embarrassed by their home opener and champing at the bit for a chance to take that out on someone.

I hope I’m wrong, but the vibe I get from the team is not, “We need to go to Dallas and punch them in the mouth.” They should not be motivated by fear of going 0-2 in the division but by the prospect of sticking it to Dallas in their place.

Man, I hope they do.

They need to sit Sainristil. After last week's debacle, this is what he said to a reporter at The Atheltic: "That wasn’t a coaching thing. That wasn’t a schematic thing. That was just two plays on my end with a … I guess you could call it a lack of effort.”

Sit him this week. The whole game. Rasul Douglas and Fabian Moreau can get some playing time. There have to be repercussions for something like this.
this agme is on the offense, they should be able to make shit happen against this D , JD5 needs to shine quiet some folks the fuck down
Agree. Hard to do that though when your pass blocking sucks. Maybe it gets better but hard to be optimistic with it. He's a great qb, but he's got have some help on the oline consistently.

He's supposed to be a professional and clearly doesn't care. Sign someone who does. Shocked to hear this frankly and very disappointed. Disgusting.

i read reports his wife had a miscarriage a few weeks back, some things are bigger then football

not to defend him but i can see losing focus after something like that

That's terrible. And if that is the case, then I can certainly understand the difficulties here. But all the more reason to let him sit and give him some time and space to recover from that traumatic experience. (I am not advocating cutting the guy; that seems extreme and particularly with the new information, pretty harsh). There was a Ted Lasso episode that this reminds me of -- you don't know what these guys bring to work every day and what's going on in their lives. (True for anyone we work with or otherwise come across, actually.) Time to show a little grace.

24-21

I think we lose this one too, but it'll be close. Hopefully our offense will do better with a worse defense instead of a stout philly D. I won't be surprised if we do pull this out either though.

Washington Commanders cornerback Mike Sainristil and his partner Seliana Carvalho recently went through a deeply painful personal loss, which came to light in September 2026.Before the start of the NFL regular season, it was shared on social media by his partner that they experienced a pregnancy loss. The news became a topic of discussion among fans and media as a reminder of the heavy personal challenges the young cornerback has been navigating off the field while continuing to play. The couple previously welcomed their first child, a daughter named Summer, in June 2024.

Mike should be out on mental
Health leave then. If his personal situation is affecting his work performance; then he should take the necessary time off.

Feel horrible for the guy and his family. When I watched the game live I honestly thought it was odd how bad he was getting beat 1st half. Not surprising now with this.

Isn't it a bit of a tightrope for NFL players to walk (and many modern men in general) to spear strong and capable when something is eating away at you inside? Is this maybe a case of showing a tough exterior when challenged but not being right in the head for games? I agree coaching staff should have leant on medical staff (presumably the team has in house psychiatric/psychological staff?) to properly assess his mindset. But is it also on him to prep for the game mentally and if he can't concentrate, to tell them?

Not beating up on him, it is a from of grief, but he has to shoulder some of the responsibility and be honest with himself and the team.

Personally I think knowing when you are mentally fragile and talking about it is showing toughness but regarding Mike's decision. The tight rope is probably more about if he says he needs a break he will be looking for a new team, uprooting his family and life due to availability. I know in my profession if you miss time they will find a way to send you to a new location or even eliminate your position. Even if it violates the law proving management is doing that for that reason is so challenging.
