Re: Taylor Officially Charged

rich people celebrity lawyers almost always beat local D/A's. that being said, i think a plea-bargain for a lesser charge and probation is much more likely than this thing actually going to trial. we'll see though, i'm just an arm-chair lawyer like the rest of you guys.

Except for the 3 or 4 real lawyers we have here...

I'm not a real lawyer yet, but I've vowed not to engage in legal arguments anymore.

So much for Joe Gibbs #1 rule : "Don't embarass the Redskins".

Welcome to the board realrick.

Again the bigger issue is will this experience be enough to get this kids head adjusted. I think he will get off on this. First offense, celebrity, good lawyer etc. should help his cause.

Honestly, the person I want to see him hit the hardest this year is Keyshawn Johnson. Even moreso than TO.

Re: Taylor Officially Charged

He hasn't been proven guilty so that is they way that we should take this, he may or may not be guilty but he believes that he isn't guilty, enough that he took a lie detector test. He hasn't "thrown away his talent" and he is not "a waste" until we know for sure that he did what he is accused of doing. It is not fair to say those things (and I know i have felt the same way) until we know the facts, it is very very very possible that he did nothing but punch the guy. I don't even know how they know that he had a gun, probally witnesses and how much credit do we give them as they have been quoted on this issue asking "whats the profit for [them]". All i am saying is that i strongly believe that someone is innocent until proven guilty and that we should take a step back and look at this and not just assume that he is a common thug.
But regardless of being innocent or guilty he did embarress the redskins. I just hope that the trial does get pushed back.

Re: Taylor Officially Charged
I DIDN'T have it. I got a call about 2 AM on Wed/Thurs morning and a drunken voice was like, "Yo man, I'm back in town and getting married." It was a friend who went into the army and I hadn't heard from in about 2 years. So he decided to have his party last night because pretty much all the people he hangs out with are wastes of life that either don't have jobs or don't care if they make it.

So we proceeded to frequent Roanoke and get ALL kinds of trashed.

And now here I sit at work on two hours of sleep.:vomit-smi
Rough night. Hope it was worth it.:party-smi :cheers

Well, another question is, knowing that Sean may face time if convicted after this season, how will this effect him during this season? You can't honestly say that you can put something like this out of your mind completely....I couldn't.

Re: Taylor Officially Charged

I'm not a lawyer and I don't even play one on TV. But precedents in other celebrity cases suggest that he will either win in court or the witnesses will suddenly choose not to testify - - collecting a nice gratuity of course in some kind of sidebar settlement.

I doubt Taylor will do any jailtime unless of course there is an obscure Florida law that has a mandatory sentence associated with being a MEATHEAD.

Yes, it definitely was. He was carrying a blow-up doll around all night and the entire staff at Hooters was very cool.
A three year minimum sentence if you're not a celebrity. Then it's reduced down to a fine and community service.
Just to be clear. The sentence for a conviction on aggrevated assault with a gun in Florida cannot be reduced to lower than 3 years. Now, whether he gets convicted or not may depend on his lawyer/celebrity status. Sorry, I just don't want people confusing sentencing with guilt.....they are two different issues.
