A game that certainly stands out......and I can still see Joey T as they cary him out on a stretcher telling Schroeder to get a win. Wonder if Joey T still experiences repercussions from that leg injury.....it's a miracle the guy can walk.............
ok my opinion, the pats were surprised by the loss of ty law during the first game, Cowher took advantage as any good coach would. But when Belichick had time to plan for the absence of Ty Law in the AFC championship game the pats took it to you. Also didn't they not play with dillion in the first game? didn't they rush like 3 times for 5 yards or was that a different team? I know it was a team that played you because you took our spot at best run stopping d that week.

BUt i will be rooting for you to take down the pats week 3, i like to cheer for the underdog(wierd to say a team that went 15-1 is an underdog isn't it?-- but then again the whole league is an underdog to the Pats)
Nice post, and you're right with the facts....good job.

thanks i have a friend that is a huge steeler fan and i pick up on things, makes it hard to be a redskins fan, we argue over everything, i mean everything

Yesterday at 1 a.m (or about 5 hours ago) we were arguing whether or not the steelers Ravens actually is a significant rivalry in the league. I know this thread is near its death but if anyone has an opinion please let in.

He insisted that if i were to ask a knowledgable fan that they would say that the steelers ravens rivalry is number 1 in the league, he stressed as of present but i just said there is no history b/w the two. But i did say that they could be a big rivalry in the future. Then he went off insulting the redskins and then i let it all hang out. The problem is the steelers have a ton of rivals, cowboys, raiders, browns, patriots and now the darn ravens.

You can tell your friend I said he's dead wrong. The Steelers/Ravens has the potential for a great rivalry........but there are WAY TOO Many rivalries out there that have been built through generations of hatred. I don't care how much the two teams hate each other right now........Cowboys and Redskins have despised each other for decades. There's no way any Steeler fan over 10 years old could have grown up being taught to hate the Ravens like many of us were raised to hate the Cowboys. I mean I've hated the Cowboys for over twice as many years as the Ravens have even been in existence (and I'm not even 30 yet). Ask your friend who he grew up hating..........because the answer couldn't be the Ravens.

Personally I'd put every combination of the NFC east ahead of steelers/ravens as well as chiefs/raiders....... broncos/raiders....... broncos/chiefs....... jets/dolphins........ and maybe even cleveland/cincinnati (the browns may have been gone for a few years....but those cities truly hate each other).

They may be Pittsburgh's #1 rivalry (I think if the city of Cleveland has a team, it's that team, not the one that left). However, it isn't the #1 rivalry in the entire league. Whether that's Wash/Dallas, Oakland/KC, GB/Chicago, or someone else is debatable.

Ummm, that's why I said Pitt's #1 rivalry.....did not say the leagues #1.

And you're wrong, even though we hate the new expansion Browns, the Ravens to us ARE the Browns.........one name, Ray Lewis.....nuff said.
I think there has always been some similarities with these two franchises.

1) both scrappy (pun intended) teams on both sides of the ball
2) not a Hollywood type of team ala SF and Dal
3) both always concentrated on trying to have a good running game and D

...etc.
Not a Hollywood type of team. You are talking about the Redskins right?

Steelers/Ravens is a fiercely compelling rivalry: one that is even matched and important for both teams and cities. I think it has been one of the best in the league for several years.
