I agree that people can change. I also observe that often times they do not.

And if you are right - that he was trying the "Randy Moss method" - all the evidence isn't in yet, but it would look as if that means he ain't gonna change much at all.

Here's what I worry about in signing this kind of player even to a minimum contract. What's the next substance abuse violation penalty and when is it gonna hit? After a 4 game suspension, what is the next violation gonna cost? A season? If he's a starting WR and he is gone for a year, he won't be making any huge contributions to the team.

I wouldn't trade for this guy in Madden let alone real life.

Thankfully we're past that era of bringing in everyone else's problems.

You're right SC, it is risky, but for the right contract I think it's worth it. I'm willing to bet that somewhere around 20% of players in the NFL use illegal drugs. I haven't heard anything bad from him besides this, while one more would royally screw him up, there should be a way to build a contract that protects the skins, if nothing else have a look at him. From a talent standpoint he has more than anyone on our team (at the WR spot).

if we're hearing about a drug charge, that means its the THIRD offense... THREE... as in not the first time, and not the second. Its not a one-off deal, he now has a documented problem.

Does anyone officially know the offense? Weed, steroids, coke, etc? Is everyone speculating? Never really followed Rogers, but whatever I was into I would find a way to quit to possibly become a great NFL WR. He has great talent and potential, but so do many, many players. Question comes down to a Mike Sellers life decision. Wanna do the NFL or not? Easy. Could I quit my vices for a starting NFL job? I would hope so!!! We're not just talking fame, we're talking BIG MONEY!!!
