Re: Discussion Skins Game Plan
While I understand your concern for not putting up a lot of points on teams, when they have put up 19, 21 and 35 points in losses, the defense let every team back into the game. This has to be taken into account especially when the defense is not forcing turnovers which would contribute to better field position and not having to spend so much time in long drives in the beginning of the game.
I understand your points and they are valid. But, perhaps the defense wouldn't have to force turnovers if our offense wasn't coughing so many up. We've still got a defense that the majority of head coaches would kill for. As for our offense, I'm not so sure how many coaches would trade their offense for ours. |
Re: Discussion Skins Game Plan
We just need both sides of the ball to show up!!! Other than giants game, cant say we had a game where both sides played poorly.

Re: Discussion Skins Game Plan
the skins have had this red zone problem for the past couple seasons. whenever we get into the red zone, i cringe. most of the time it is an incompletion on first down, run for a few yards on second, and either a sack or incompletion on third down, or its a turnover. :frusty: as far as lavar is concerned, we should switch to a 3-4 defense and use him as a pass rushing de & use washington, marshall, holdman and mccune as our lbs
The only thing that is wrong with our offense is the turnovers. With the exception of last week, our offense has had no problems putting up points. We eliminate the turnovers, we win out. It's that simple. |

We've scored less than 20 points in regulation in the following games: Chicago (9) @Dallas (14) Seattle (17) @ Denver (19) Philly (17) Oakland (13) We've done okay in the following game: @ Kansas City (21) We've scored a lot of points in the following games: San Francisco (52) @Tampa Bay (35) Our offense is averaging 20 points per game. That puts us as the 21st scoring offense in the league. That's not good. Basically, we've demonstrated the ability to get points on the board, but we've also demonstrated total inconsistency. |

I think Brunell, Moss, Cooley and Portis are in the top ten for offensive players in the league. I'm sure people would kill to have them on their team because of course they think the players could be used more effectively than the way the Redskins use them. |

But, for some reason, the offense as a whole has been very inconsistent. They should be putting up much better numbers. |
Re: Discussion Skins Game Plan
our O-line/blocking scheme has been too inconsistant.
