Very true, and it's a great way to do stuff. But the pieces that they won with are no longer there. Just Dawkins and McNabb and kinda Westbrook are the only carryovers from the first three division titles. So what they are left with at many positions are able bodied players. A few could end up having great careers, but overall, its a bad situation. But even McNabb, who's obviously been good for a long time, isn't a big reason why they were winning. Hell, even AJ Feeley went 5-1 with that team. And many of those parts (Troy Vincent, Bobby Taylor, Duce Staley, Terrell Owens, Carlos Emmons, John Welbourn, Corey Simon, Derrick Burgess among others) have moved on. Which explains both why they have the cap room, and why they aren't very good.

It's not that they can't be good, they just are looking up at three powerhouse teams in their own division. Ironically, the weakness of those teams is one of the main factors that allowed them to be so good for so long.

troy and bobby were replaced by better guys (bobby taylor went to the seahawks and did NOTHING, and duce hasn't exactly lit things up since leaving either). burgess is one of the guys they really should have kept, but overall they've done alright.

I don't believe you can write off anyone at this point in the year, espicially the Eagles. (Well, maybe the Ravens) There's a bunch of possiblities for that team out there, but all I'm saying is i don't think they have the firepower to go .500 in this division. That, I believe, is a neccessity for any NFC East team to make the playoffs.

only 3 dbs went there and that was only because the eagles were a good team...they weren't the best dbs in the conference

kearse is old and trotter is overrated and they're in the hardest division in the league

the eagles are going nowhere

sure, why not. delhomme didn't break down at the end of the season, and he won more post season games than eli did.

I don't think we should underestimate the eagles just yet. You could say they barely had no talent on the teams that went to 4 consecutive NFCC games, but they still went. I won't be underestimating them this year.
