I don't mean to undermine you agitation with what occured yesterday, but don't you think this analogy is a little extreme? Most of us on this site don't even know each other, except for what can be seen from the content of our posts. Who really cares whether or not a few mods didn't see eye to eye? It was just a silly diversion to break the monotony of the offseason.

And for those of you that are truly bothered or felt betrayed by the joke, just step away from WP.net for a few days, and come back and see if you feel comfortable posting again.

I thought it was a pretty damn funny joke if I do say so, thanks to everyone involved for pulling it off.

For those that refused to believe it, I commend you for having a level head and being able to see through the BS.

For those that believed it hook, line and sinker, all I can say is... sucker! AFD!

For those that are still pissed/upset, I say lighten up, life is too short to be pissed off over silly stuff.

Kudos for pulling off such an intelligent and witty ruse. Your convincing banter and well laid plans really came across as quite humorous, as you can tell from all the people here who have found this so funny. </end sarcasm>

Yes, it's a joke, I get it. Yes, you were well intentioned and meant no harm. I would like to point out that your intentions are completely irrelevant. What you DO is what's important. I am by no means about to abandon WP.net or write you all off, but I will say this entire things shows a real lack of maturity and character.

Whether you meant well or not, you can see by this thread that virtually everyone here found this to be far from "hilarious." I think most everyone found it highly annoying at best. The Redskins fans who spend a considerable amount of time and energy participating on this site, and without whom this site would not exist, are pretty pissed off and some form of apology may be in order.

I don't think you need to come "begging for forgiveness for your horrible crimes," but at least admit this was poorly thought out and that you've offended and annoyed a substantial portion of your fanbase.

I can take a joke with the best of them and I enjoy a good April Fools prank, but have some discretion in the future.

The "joke" never should have been posted as an Announcement. Getting a bunch of people to lie and contune to make up more lies is Lying. Many people's way of posting and reasons for being here were insulted and I'd argue the sites own TOS were broken.

As I said in the first post the mods apologize to those who got genuinely upset by this. And for the record, that does not include "virtually everyone on the site"

It was an innocent joke that admittedly got out of hand. We've learned our lesson. In the future the mods won't assume that people can take a simple joke and not make ridiculous comparisons to joking about divorcing your spouse or telling some kid his parents died. We figured we'd have some fun, but apparently that's not possible with some of you.

Guys everyone needs to chill. It was a joke(and a pretty obvious one too if I say so myself). If you can't take a joke in the spirit it was meant in then I am sorta sad for you. I know everyone loves it here and doesn't want anything to happen but for Gibbs' sake settle down. It was just a little joke.
