This isnt a football player, but the story bears repeating for the WORST name. Bartolo Colon. Let me explain.

This was off a Jay Leno "headlines" section probably 3-4ish years ago (I think it was when Colon was pitching for the Expos). Anyway, he got totally shelled one night, and Leno proudly displayed the headline from the local paper the next morning:

"Colon gets pounded"

Ouch. Thats GOTTA hurt (literally).
