I move that we put up a link where we can see how long each person has played. It's hilarious when I look at some of us.

What speed do you go on in snake?

the problem with that is that its really not accurate.

I spent over an hour on a single game of space invaders before i had to leave and i had a macro run the stupid card game looking for naturally dealt straight flushes (check) and royal flushes (1 in 649,750 - at 5 tries per second that's an average of 36 hours till it gets a hit). so a bunch of my time is racked up while i'm sleeping and it's filtering through that.

Re: Warpath Arcade anyone?

Oh, I know. I just love seeing how obsessed we all are with these games. I have personally spent at least 2 hours on Snake alone.

TheMalcolmConnection 05-31-2006 10:52 AM

Re: Warpath Arcade anyone?

And I STILL can't get the highest score.

Re: Warpath Arcade anyone?

What IS accurate is that you HAD to have spent at least 45 minutes on Alien Hominid. At LEAST. ;)

Re: Warpath Arcade anyone?

I see some people with 17 hours logged in the arcade already!

Wow, you guys are on crack!

nah, i spent 2 minutes getting to a safe spot, 1 minute writing a macro that literally did this:

A // A button = fire in alien hominid
delay 5 // that's 5 milliseconds or .005 seconds

restart

took a shower, ate, came back and killed my dude off. You can get unlimited points by staying ducked and hitting left, fire fire, right, fire fire over and over again as well, but you'll get RSI (wrist injuries) from it pretty quickly since the FBI guys are only 150 a pop.

OK, well your computer spent 45 minutes. Hilarious nonetheless.

Is that how you hit 38 homers too?

Maybe I'm retarded but I've maxed out at 12. I hit the pitcher more than I hit it out.

yeah, what was funnier is when my computer was making me 8$ an hour 24 hours a day to just leave it alone while it created fake money for me (credits on SWG) which i converted to US dollars with the help of ebay and silly people that appreciate the value of non existant things.

no, macros aren't good at random things.

the trick is to look for the white X and keep swinging.

NY_Skinsfan and I want to know how is that 144 is the best golf score when each of us got 58. Isn't a lower score better in golf?

This is an issue for this game on all sites. There is a patch or something that Matty can do about it but I have no idea what it is.

simply reverse scoring... take whatever the point total it sends you and subtract it from 144... that way 144 strokes = 0 and 18 (theoretical minimum) would give you 126.

OK I have to say it...

That Guy, arent the macros defeating the purpose of the game in community? I'm sure most people would like a shot at the top ten without having to write macros or modifying packets to send to the game server.

That_Guy is officially under investigation, his records might need one of these...

no, cause i could have just as easily sat there for two hours myself like i did with space invaders. i had one press "a" repeatedly while i took a shower for alien hominid (could have taken the shower and come back, it was impossible to die, but i like avoiding rsi risks when posible) and i had one check for red and hit new game if blue came up in the poker game. everything else is legit. the arkanoid game and hominid game are borked by the creators and contain ways to crazy points if you get lucky (warping up the ledge near the grenade guy and getting the correct bounce in arkanoid).

I've explained everything pretty thoroughly here and cost myself some records (home run derby etc) because of it :P and just so you know, writing a macro for space invaders or arkanoid or duck hunt etc would take MUCH longer than just playing through to set a score.

and before accusing anyone of modifying packets, you better have some proof.

In the end, it's the classics that count. Tetris, Chopper Challenge (Schneed, I'll never figure out how you did it) and Snake. Those are balls-to-the-wall baby. It's all skill. And piss and vinegar.

Snake... Chopper challenge? Classics? I don't know about all that Malcolm. Lets just say pacman is classic(don't attempt to take my title away for saying this)

TheMalcolmConnection 06-01-2006 11:46 AM

Re: Warpath Arcade anyone?

Hahahahaha. True enough. Pac-man is without a doubt a game that's purely skill. I think there's a couple others too.

actually, the real pacman is purely memorization. some people can beat it (get to the level where the graphics glitch and the game freezes) with their eyes closed the entire time.

How do you KNOW this?!

Re: Warpath Arcade anyone?
How do you KNOW this?!
insomniac with dave atell... i think. they showed him doing it eyes closed (getting all fruits etc), though obvious not the full game (cause that'd be a bit long... and very very boring). he sells his own brand of salsa or something as well.

I'm full of pointless and trivial information :P anyways, if you get to level 255 and that flash game glitches, let me know. I find pacman too boring to bother with (and i'm not really naturally good at it either).

Atleast you admit that using macros isnt legit...

I never accused you of manipulating packets. But I dont see the difference between using macros and just plain hacking the game.

This is a sore issue for me because I admin a Counter Strike server and have seen a great game die because of script kiddie with their aimbots and wallhacks.

I detest cheating

there's a huge difference between a wall hack or aimbot and a macro that hits one button repeatedly :P come on now, maybe that horse you're on is a bit too high.

Either way it sounds like cheating to me That_Guy. The arcade is supposed to be just a fun little distraction, let's try to keep it that way.

yeah I agree, its great that you figured out a way to get a high score, bc of the way the game is created, but a high score should only count if you physically sat through the game and earned. If you dont want sit for hours, then dont, but macros are def not legit in my eyes, and they shouldnt be for this site.

That Guy 06-02-2006 09:00 AM

should we also remove all the games with exploits then? cause exploits can be considered cheating, and that means all the home run derby, arkanoid, mini golf, alien hominid, etc scores are all invalid.

is helicopter hunting in alien hominid considered an exploit, since you have to do that instead of progressing through the game to get high scores as well?

where does it end?

No there is def love for honesty, Im sure everyone appreciates that. But that doesnt mean people cant question your scores, and still appreciate your honesty.

I know I am not the only one that feels this way, Im sure anyone who has seriously tried for a high score would feel the same too.

Re: Warpath Arcade anyone?

well, i got back to the safe spot in alien and am now manual pressing the a key for an undetermined number of hours, so i hope that makes everyone happy, but its just a waste of time.

MTK 06-02-2006 09:22 AM

Re: Warpath Arcade anyone?

Exploiting a glitch in a game is much different to me than writing a macro that helps you get an insane high score. A glitch is part of the game, a macro is not.

Don't get me wrong, both methods suck, but writing a macro crosses the line of cheating.

except they're scores i could easily get anyways, as i'm doing now. writing something to do something a human could not do takes much MUCH MUCH longer than actually posting your own scores anyways. The only time to bother with that is if money is involved. no one wastes time botting flash games.

Well, don't play then.

The arcade isn't about hitting a high score in the least amount of time possible.

I guess you don't get it, or maybe everyone else is just suckers for playing the games as they were meant to be played.

Go ahead and keep writing macros if that's what really gets you off in the arcade. Nobody is going to know the difference anyway.
