I agree the boy was probably an Other.

On a side note I am highly disappointed bc I felt like my theory was going somewhere. Basically that the whole plane accident didn't happen, it was all setup. After they boarded the plane they were drugged and it "Crashed". But they were just secretly put on an island, as a part of some huge experiment.

The whole experiment part seems to be slowly validated, but bc the Others saw the plane actually crash, seems to indicate that it actually did.

I thought it might not have, bc the other half of the plane, split and fell into the ocean, from 11,000 ft, or whatever planes fly at. I think, Ana Lucia said she fell directly into the water, if I am not mistaken, which seems unlikely. Also with insane number of times that the cast ran into each other and had connections before the crash, seems to indicate this was a predetermined group. Otherwise the chances of all that happening is really slim.


PS: Remember the chick that told Jack his cell was an aquarium. For dolphins, and SHARKS! Remember the shark last season with a Darma logo on its back fin.....hmmmm lol

teach him he can't escape, so don't try maybe? i don't know, right not they've completely flipped it from a bunch of bums in dirty huts to a fully functioning modern society, so it's a little to up in the air what's actually happening.

hollywood research/physics leaves much to be desired. I mean, falling straight into the water from that kind of height would be the same as falling straight into hardened cement. the whirring exploding engine thing in the very first episode is completely impossible. It'd be hard for a plane to rip apart the way they showed it (though i guess magnets positioned correctly might be able to, but where was the explosion from all the fuel that should have combutsed?). Also things like the republican gaurd DO NOT COMMIT TOTURE. Saddam had an entire force of people tasked specifically for that (mujahadim? guys that wore all black).

I could go on, but it'll just bring everyone down.

So could it not be, that they were drugged, and the plane did not crash, and the island they are on, has a whole bunch of crazy stuff, because it is a test environment?


If you look at the crash episode, that shows the plane crashing. It starts shaking, then the oxygen, or cough cough, the drug masks fall down. People put them on, and then the plane crashed. I know that is usually how the air supply works, but still it would be good chance to drug someone. Either way, it seems like all the run-ins before the crash, are way too much for the crash and flight just to be a random chance.

But yeah, ThatGuy, I agree that Hollywood is never really accurate, so you could be right. I just would love it if my theory was right, I like crazy stuff lol.

Remember that the tail of the plane landed in the water...so Ana Lucia didn't necessarily fall from the plane into the water, but did have to swim up from the tail to the beach...

It's only the 1st episode...they usually only set things up, not necessarily explain.

I am too, but the 10pm start time is kind of a bummer. While I'll continue to watch, I can see me relying on DVR and watching it the next evening because I'll usually fall asleep between 10 and 11.

Although I hated the new timeslot, I really though last night's episode was one of the best of the entire series. I don't know if it was worth that long of a wait and all but I really like that it sort of got back to it's old self, IMO.
Maybe the fact that we finally got an HDTV and this was the first time I watched the show on it made it better for me, but I really like where the show seems to be headed for the time being.

We finally got an "Other" flashback, so that was cool, and there were some pretty good twists in it. I might be overreacting a bit because I know some of my friends who watch the show didn't like last night all that much but I really did enjoy it.

Well the fact that we have confimation that the Others haven't necessarily been on the island long is a major development to me. She's only been on the island 3 years.

I saw a clip on youtube about a week ago showing an asain girl climbing into bed with jack,it was only about a 10 second clip and I thought it was a fake,then I saw the same girl in the previews for the new season,I dont know if shes one of the others or another flashback
a part of me loves this show but then another part thinks this is just like frickin gilligans island!! their never going to get off the freaking island people!! if they did,theres no show
only way it would happen is if they know theyre going to be cancelled and they make the final season wrap it up

yeah it is quite obvious they are, but it is a great strategy because alotta hardcore LOST fans try to sit and read signs and predict what the next episode will be like, but since they make it up on the spot there is no way of doing that. That way it is always interesting.

But I really think this has to be the last season because if there is another season then they are just dragging it on...

The guy guarding the "A Clockwork Orange" place was one of the four main characters from the show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Also, there was another former Deadwood actress to appear on Lost (3 so far).

yeah, there' a lot of that though. juliet's boss was the DA for homicide: life on the street, i think the recruiter guy was from suddenly susan, and also played batmanuel on the live action version of The Tick (which got canned REALLY quickly).

I've really liked the last two episodes but I've heard that the rating are really falling off. I know the producers have talked about setting an end date for the show, which is a good thing because it should keep them focused on the questions they've already raised, but I hope they don't have to rush it because not enough people are watching.

yeah, that's my worry...the execs rushing an ending because of falling ratings. If they move the damn show back to 9pm, they'll get some of their viewership back. But I wonder if their ratings include those who TiVo or DVR, like I do? I know several people who record the show because it's on a bit late...

I was thinking about that too. I think that sort of thing also spoils the show for people because there are not commercial breaks. My sister and her boyfriend just started watching the show, getting caught up through the DVDs and online, and they can't stand watching the normal broadcast because of all the damn commercials.
I wonder if network shows are going to start following things like TiVo stats and DVD sales as closely as they follow weekly ratings (for first run episodes) in the future. I feel like they'd have to or they'd risk cancelling a popular show who's viewers watch in a different format.

My brother pointer out this mindblower to me. She said she had been on the island for 3 years, two montyhs, blah-de-blah. They've determined that the actual time they are there is late 2004. That would take Juliet back to right around 9/11/2001.

They aren't that ballsy, are they?

Nielsen does some sort of DVR/TiVo tracking but I am not sure how much stock networks put into it. They by in large don't like the DVR/TiVo revolution for obvious reasons and seem to have stuck their collective heads in the sand mostly. Some shows are starting to introduce easter eggs in commerical breaks as a way to have viewers watch them but those efforts have been few so far. Actually Lost did it a couple times.

That's exactly how I started on the show. Wife and I started watching right before Season 2 started...so we watched Season 1 on DVD, and the first several episodes from DVR. Then once we caught up, it made it extremely hard to watch with all the commercials. So now, we DVR, and start it around 20 minutes in. That way we can FF through the commercials, and still be done around the same time.

I've heard this as well...however, I've also read that the timeline puts her on the island around 9/5/01...

But if I'm a network executive, I don't really want to count people who record the show and watch it later (like TiVo viewers). They skip over the commercials anyway. The only viewers I want to count are the ones who watch the live telecast, because they're the ones subjected to the commercials.

The ad revenue is directly tied to the number of eyeballs watching the ads.
