dude i'm happy. i know troy vincent has some instincts. its clear AA relied too much on his physical skills over his career, and thats declining.

i expect vincent can actually teach ST a thing or two.

Man, they signed him quick.

Re: Revised Thread: Redskins Sign Vincent

The difference between him and Kenny Wright is that Vincent has been good most of his career. Kenny Wright was never very good.

I don't see how it can be a retarded move at this point.

We're a desperate team right now. What would have been retarded is passing on Vincent.

I just hate to prove the critics right. Now we have a new free agent enter turnstile that we will get excited about whom will undoubtedly disappoint us.

I guess I'm still salty over Sunday.

Re: Troy Vincent is at Redskins Park today
Do you complain when they suck, and complain when they try to fix it?
Yeah seriously. We have no depth at CB right now, Springs is no guarantee to returning to 100% anytime soon, and we need to make a move. A guy like Vincent is available and someone actually questions whether it's a good move?

With our current situation it would have been DUMB to not sign him. We really didn't have a choice.

Re: Revised Thread: Redskins Sign Vincent

Maybe with a little luck and a double barrel he can provide some stopping power. For real, how much does he have left? He's getting a little long in the tooth. however.........

Re: Revised Thread: Redskins Sign Vincent

Is he gonna play safety or corner cause he converted to safety in Buffalo. If he plays corner he's gonna torched.

My guess is that he takes Prioleou's role. I like the signing, if nothing else he's going to be more productive than Curry Burns (sp?).

Re: Troy Vincent is at Redskins Park today

If anyone gets hyped over Vincent then there crazy. He has done nothing the past few years and really nothing at all since he left Philly. I sure hope I'm wrong though cause we need something to jolt our defense.

Sounds like he'll play safety in nickel packages and some at corner.

At this point I'd trust him over Wright or Rumph, that's for sure.

He MUST be of use to us at this point. I hate to use the word desperate, but, as you say, Springs is shaky, etc

Yeah, he can't be much worse than what they have. I think it's a good pickup. He might even bring some leadership. But I don't know if he can hang with Marvin, Reggie and Brandon. So they're in hot water this week.

He got hurt trying to make a tackle on defense against JAX, don't you remember? Yeah neither do I, but just ask Sam.

Ha, nice recall!

The best part was Sonny's reaction. "Chris Cooley doesn't play defense."

Vincent was definitely one of the leaders in the Philly locker room when he was there. Our reeling DBs could use a steady hand from another guy who knows what it takes to play at a high level in this league.

i dont know y i think this is so funny/weird...its like the whole "S. alexanders is the best homosexual to play the game" thing....

just strange....

Didn't we know Wright and Archuleta wasn't great in coverage? Didn't we know Springs wasn't durable? We would've been better off drafting a CB this year (even not knowing Posey would be available). This cookie is starting to crumble.

Nothing? Last year he logged 102 tackles and 4 INTs....I do believe that may be better than anything we got going right now!
