Re: Hilary Clinton to run for President
If Hillary does win her primary, when it comes time to go up against the republican candidate, she's going to have to deal with serious family values issues. Her husband cheated on her. And she's still with him. The spin fest will be in full force on that issue.
Republicans will paint her and Bill as having a troubled marriage and an instable relationship (appealing to family values). She'll try to spin it as she knows people makes mistakes, forgiveness is important, and she's honoring the vows she made to stand by him until death do them part. If she makes it past Obama, I'm really wondering how that issue's going to be dealt with. |

That's something that's been seriously lacking in the Democratic party since Clinton was in office. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. |
Re: Hilary Clinton to run for President
I would be more worried about the fact she has one of the highest disliked quotients of all politicians. She has many fans but just as many (if not more) people who will never vote for her. I don't think she can win a general election.
I seriously question is Obama can. I think our country still has latent race issues that will be hard to over come. Their only hope is that the Repubs only options are Rudy and McCain. What a total bag of losers the whole field is right now. |

new york city was a complete dump before guiliani took office. He basiclly got new york back on there feet. there crime rate has dropped signicantly and he also helped clean up the huge mess left by those asshole terrorist. he gets my vote |
Re: Hilary Clinton to run for President
i just dont like hilary "i cant believe it's not" clinton.
i dont like her one bit. she seems slimy. if there was a woman running that i can actually see running our country good then i would definetly vote for them. i have no problem with women running for pres, i just have a problem with hilary clintons. |
Re: Hilary Clinton to run for President
Pataki!!!
Sorry, I took some survey which said I should vote for him should he run. If I find it I'll link it. I think it's in ontheissues.org PATAKI!!! |
Re: Hilary Clinton to run for President
I really hope Pataki runs, he would be a sure loss for the republicans.

do we have that short a memory around here? mr guiliani was cheating on his wife, while still being married. this is one of the biggest no nos in politics. every republican on the planet wanted bill clinton impeached for having sex in the white house, but because of 9-11, everything is forgotten? |

Have you even been watching the political seen. They have put up a fight with just about anything President Bush has tried to do. Take appointment of judges and not just to the sup.court. If anything I think its the Republican party which has backed down and not put up much of a fight. |
Re: Hilary Clinton to run for President
Did anybody catch the shot of her during the Address last night? I was watching CBS telecast and her mouth was twisted upwards in a sort of smirking half-smile. Not an unusual look for her but it projects her as seeming more arrogant than confident.

Please post any statement where Bush has said there was a conection between Bin Ladan and Iraq. It was not Lawenski (spelling) it was the other lady (not sure of her name) who sued him for sexual harasment which he lied and then that got the whole Lawenski thing going. Sorry this is starting to get political I could not let this go because its not correct. Bush did say there was a tie to terrorist which has been proven but not Bin Laden and 9/11 which he has never claimed. |

True, but Dubya's smug look usually comes from realizing that he didn't screw up pronouncing a polysyllabic word. |
Re: Hilary Clinton to run for President
dubya always seems to have this condescending attitude which I find hilarious considering how dumb the guy is.
I love this classic Bushism: "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." What a dipshit. |

I agree, and as I said before I think their main problem is they don't fight back hard enough and with the same vigor that the Republicans do. dubya owes everything to Karl Rove. |

dubya owes everything to Karl Rove.
Karl Rove was a big help but Bush as in anyone running for office becomes the bottom line. I posted earlier to your post about the Dems not fighting back but you must have missed the past 6 years. They have fought him on everything he has done except around 9/11. I think that has hurt the Dem. party because at times it has seemed that all they have done is bitched, moaned, and complained but never offered any plains of their own. On some issues it seemed they just complained to complain. |

What I mean by fighting back is when the Republicans start slinging the mud, the dems typically try to take the 'higher road' but sometimes you've gotta sling that mud right back. Clinton was great at that. He would fight on their level. |
Re: Hilary Clinton to run for President
Jon Stewart had a great quote about the upcoming (at the time) State of the Union on Monday night's Daily Show. He said something like "and once again it's time for a clash of two bitter rivals: the president and words."
When he's speaking he comes across as so ignorant that I have a hard time understanding how people can take him seriously. |

Not to get political too much here but if you think the Dems don't sling mud you are fooling your self Matty. Both parties do it like Rembrandt. I think that is the biggest political problem in the country. People in each party think those in the other party are horrible and do bad things when it all reality they ALL just suck. There is barely a politician in DC I'd let babysit my kid. It has become way too competitive and 'Us versus them' to do any good for the country. |
Re: Hilary Clinton to run for President
Guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. In general I see the Dems as weak and too concerned with taking the higher ground when at times they need to be more aggressive and strong.

What kind of mud slinging have the Republican party been doing?

No, it's because it's all about power and glory to her... and control. It isn't about America and it's people.... and what she can do for them. I cannot stand either Clinton and I'll pray that she is NOT the first woman president of the US. (god help us) |
