Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
BREAKING NEWS!!!!!! Michael Irvin has just announced that the proud citizens of Dallas will EACH be entitled to 4 grams of crack rock and one lick of a whore's ass in celebration of Irvin.
|
Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
this is f...i ng bullshit. I really thought that he was getting in this year. This is what is written on ESPN.com on the nfl page
After two years of disappointment, Michael Irvin is headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Irvin will be joined in the Class of 2007 by Gene Hickerson, Bruce Matthews, Charlie Sanders, Thurman Thomas and Roger Wehrli. Bull shit. TWO years of disappointment? Go f... yourselves |
Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
HOF is just like the Pro Bowl. Popularity contest. My question is who votes on this stuff? Becasue if it's sports writers then I think that's a shame. Former players need to be the ones voting. I mean why does Peter King have so much pull? Did he ever play football? No. Isn't Peter King the one who said Danny Wuerfel was going to be the next Kurt Warner when OBC got the job? What a bunch of BS!
|
Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
I can't take this anymore!!
|
Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
I'm Glad I'm not the only 1 who is pissed off!!! Thanx
|
Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
I really believe that the Anti-Monk crowd consists of two types: (1) guys who have a personal grudge against the Redskins (e.g., Len "The Fat Ass" Pasquerelli); and (2) guys who think he wasn't glamorous enough and are, therefore, simply retarded.
|
Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
An investigation needs to be launched...how embarrasing for the sports writers to eff this up.
|
Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
One of the arguments against Monk is that no one can remember a single catch he made. That's crap! I remember 940 catches that helped his team win games! Why don't we just start voting people in for 1 spectacular catch! Who cares what someone does over his whole career! I

Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
That sucks...Monk is long past due.
Btw, I understand that merges make the board less cluttered, but sometimes it makes it harder to find what you are looking for. For example, to find out that Monk did not make the hall I had to look through this whole merge thread, rather than there being an independent thread for grieving over Monk missing the HOF. Sometimes I think separate is more convenient. Thanks |
Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
Good point, but until this morning there was no need to start a separate thread because we didn't know if he had been voted in or out. I'll start another thread where people can vent.
Thanks. |
Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
I don't know why anyone really get's worked up over this, if you haven't figured out by now that this is just one big ASS KISSING contest! Kind of funny no one can remember any of Monk's catches, but they can remember all of Charlie Sanders catches??????? LOL
Roger wherli???? I watched him play he was more known because his wife was a famous comedian in the 70's than anything he did on the field. If I was Monk and they ever elected me, I would take the podium and decline the induction stating the HOF is not worthy of the standards of achievment I have accomplished and walk away! And who doesn't think the NFL has a vested interest in promoting personalities, no matter what it takes? |
Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
Yeah, Charlie Sanders? Give me a break.

Perfect scenario. Lets get a hold of Monk and let HIM know the deal.....Charlie Sanders my ass.... |
Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
BTW, Darrell Green is eligible for the next vote. It would bee too great if Monk and Green went in together next year. That's probably wishful thinking though - the idiots that vote probably think that Roger Wehrli was a better CB than Darrell.

Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
D Green for some reason to me seems like a lock for next year's HOF class. He has alot of highlights....but the best is the punt return against Chicago in the playoffs...true skins fans will never forget the Hurdle that was heard around the world. PRICELESS.... |
Re: Art Monk & The HOF (Merge)
The voting process needs to either be a.) no more secret votes &/or b.) taken away from the writers and given to the HOFers and maybe the coaches as well. absolutely bs voting process and the voter's annual screw job on Monk should result in the voters who didn't vote for him to lose not only their right as HOF voters but also their privilege of covering professional football. still so freakin pissed off about this and I hope to hear much more of the media speaking so strongly about this snub job as Mark S. just did on ESPN.
