The only thing that will make my sister-in-law's wedding (which is why I'm going to be in Virginia Beach at all) is if I get autographs from Cooley and Portis ...

The blitz started out GREAT! Went today, had a blast Riggo had his radio show going. Got to meet Gary Clark, Bill Lazor. Cooley, Ladell, Rock were there but didn't bump into those guys, and more guys were comin.

Talked to Reed Doughty outside near the main stage....all around great time. Tons of stuff for the adults and kids! All three trophies were on display......GREAT TIME.

Golfin tomorrow with the SKINS.......CP and Chris Samuels were around somewhere? They were both on the mid day news talkin about all the events and takin calls. NICE

I went also. Riggo signed a ton of autographs during his breaks in the radio show. Got Riggo, Dexter and also Randy Thomas' autographs on a helmet, pretty cool. Randy Thomas is a real nice guy down to earth. Missed Gary Clark, but he will be here on Sat. too. Portis is here. Betts and Cooley may have made it down for the Gala but they weren't at any signings today. They should both be in on Sat. Lots of stuff to do in the NFL Experience, really no lines. One point, if you are looking to get autographs from high profile players make sure you are waiting in line for their signings at least one hour before the scheduled time or you may miss out. The SB tropies did look very cool....I miss the 80's (and 90-92).

Fella's the Golf was a BLAST! Was paired with a foursome and Cooley and his little brother were with both groups, there was an A and B group he rode with the A group and we were right behind....those rascals WON at 17 under! UNREAL FUN with Chris and his little bro, Cooley is a golfing motha!!!!! FACT.......in his bedroom slippers to boot.

Myself, and GoSkins went to hang out with Sammy Baugh Fan after the blitz golf event at a BBQ fest, the Ches. Jubilee. GREAT Q MIKE & KEN, THANKS FOR THE HOSPITIALITY WE SURE DID ENJOY! GREAT FOLKS!

Man that was so cool ya'll stopped by with some Moral Support both days. Meeting you two was a highlight of the weekend. Saturday at the free Pep Rally (31st and Atlantic Ave park), I was the lame fan chosen for the finale endzone dance chosen by my current favorite player, Kedric Golston. Yes, after getting pumped up by some recently aquainted fans, I just bombed. Stagefright is a MF. However I did recklessly plug THEWARPATH.NET when asked where I was from and I got autographs from Sellers, Golston, Samuels, et al. I let a lot of people down not doing much of a dance but' I'll try to get some pics up soon.

Who was the guy (named Terrance) with the big burgandy and gold Redskins afro wearing [B]9[/B] Redskins jerseys?

I did meet SkinEmAll at the festivities.

We just got home from the third and final day at the convention center, nice day for a Harley ride. Got to catch up with Jimoh, Dexter, Doughty and a hand full of others. Beautiful day and time!

That same ST jersey in a $40 jersey case was $599, the lady at that vendor was from up in DC......she said she had sold every one she had this weekend, but had about everyone else left.....GRANDSLAM! :)

i went to the blitz on sunday only, it was a really cool event. I got Gary Clark's autograph on my skins football...how cool is that? wish i could have been there for the entire weekend....ill be back next year fer sure..

I got there Saturday. The autograph line was ridiculous when I got there so I just went to the activities and did them. They were rather fun. I made a complete fool of myself on the extra point one. This one guy went old school with the bare foot and killed the ball. He should be trying out somewhere. Seriously. All in all I had fun. Rock Cartwright and I couldn't tell who the other guy was were signing when we arrived. After they left there was this line of folks waiting for lord knows who? Around 5:45 or so some people came out and said that no more players were coming out and they gave out free passes for Sunday. We hit the Tailgate party and that was fun ! We said that we'll be leaving on Thursday next year so we/I can get a chance to do everything.

Chris Cooley was supposed to be on the main stage at 5:15. I had to be at a wedding so couldn't stay, but that line was WAY too long for me anyway. People started waiting for Cooley at about 2pm in that line so that sucks. Cooley did show up briefly and signed some autos, I got a picture, but no auto. He seemed like a good guy, but I know a lot of people there were mad because he was supposed to be there Friday and didn't show and I guess he didn't come back to sign on Saturday either. Clinton Portis apparently made only the briefest of appearences on Friday night (basically passing through the lobby) so that was also basically false advertising by the Skins.

Personally, I think the whole thing could have been run a lot better and would not go back. Did get some autos and the guys all seemed very nice, especially Randy Thomas and Gary Clark. Got Andre Carter, Mike Sellers, Ross Tucker, Randy Thomas, Gary Clark, and Sam Hollenback. Not exactly what I was expecting and they really had no information on who was going to be where (which was intentional, I think, so people wouldn't get mad if players didn't show), some of the attendees had some good info, but you just had to get lucky and get next to one of those people. The guys who played golf probably had a good time, and the tailgate party might have been fun too, but the actually thing at the Convention Center was a disappointment to me, pretty disorganized.

Hey bro, it was nice meeting you down there sat. It was a great time, and your dance was cool. I could tell you were a lil unsure about what exactly you were gonna do, but dont sweat it, it was smooth. And if you hadnt of plugged the warpath, i wouldnt have met you. so that was cool as well.
And that guy with the 9 jerseys.. unreal, I couldnt believe it. Look forward to meeting some other brothers and sisters from the warpath down there next year.

I would like to see the revenue numbers from the Beach Blitz. Snyder can really rake it in. I know he got me for a good $ 200 - 250.

I never saw smoot, but redskins.com were pumping it up saying he was going to be there.

It's always fun to get to meet and hang out with the players and coaches. With that said, this years event was not as good as last years. Last year Greg Williams ran the show and he had his guys on the ball. This year, I never saw a coach that looked like he was in charge. In fact, it looked like the players were in charge of themselves, and that is a bad thing.

A number of players were no-shows for the golf event and they had already cut down to about half as many players as last year. Last year every foursome had a pro or coach as the 5th wheel. This year, one pro or coach was packed in between 2 foursome. Then half of those guys didn't show up either. That really had to suck for some of those guys. To make it worse, the inside skinny was that a bunch of players were out late partying and wouldn't get out of bed. That pissed me off.

I ended up in a pretty good spot, luckly, but I feel bad for the other guys who didn't.

The guys I did talk to were all great, especially Danny Smith and Bill Lazor, who talked fairly candidly about where we are on offense (steady progress guys, but don't expect the miracle you have been hearing about at QB). Bill does expect the offense to look much better but as many of the players came right out and said, a bigger problem was that the defense sucked last year.

Man I'd love to have his job!

Good take GoSkins. I agree with you 100%. I went all three days myself and I have to say that the event was a heck of alot more organized last year.

The schedule from the team website had Cooley slated to be on hand at the Convention Center to sign all three days of the event.

He showed up briefly (maybe 20 mins) and left.

I spoke with a great deal of fans who were pretty pissed off.

Many of them traveled a great distance to make what was supposed to be the Bigger and Better Beach Blitz event.

Matty, This was the second year we played, we did get to hang around CC last year quite a bit due to rain.

But man, having him with our two groups was truely AWESOME! He's a hell of a COOL DUDE, VERY DOWN TO EARTH.........

We could not have been any more lucky, and to WIN the raffled autographed ST jersey....with the purchase of ONE $10 tic, was just unreal. Can't wait till next year!
