I wonder how good a CB Santana Moss would be? His adjustment while the ball is in midflight is superb. Something I think any good CB would have to excel at.

I am worried that we will burn our first rd pick that's the prob. as I stated I wouldn't take this kid with the 6th pick I would obtain more picks and then grab him, I do know this guy is so far off the radar to Gibbs and co. it's really a waste of time to suggest, but I do like playing GM once in a while.;)

You're playing a bit more than GM by suggesting he can make a successful switch to another position. Personally I think it would be a big gamble and one we can't afford to make with a high draft pick.

I agree we shouldn't use that high of a pick on a project, but I DO think that a lot of WRs can make the transition to CB fairly easily. Typically that's what you hear CBs USED to be. The concept is fairly the same and being a WR, you probably understand a lot of the CB terminology.

That being said, I'd never spend that pick on him, but would consider it on another decent WR later in the draft (a draft we have more picks in).

Well what I am actually suggesting is to find out if he can make a successful switch that is all, if you bring this kid in for a workout and he covers Moss I would say it's a go, the GM has to have an eye on whether it's possible.

I saw tonight on the NFL network an interview with Ginn, they asked him if he had any thought where he was going to be drafted, he said he heard Minnesota, and he also said he heard the Redskins like him a lot, for what it's worth. By the way he's apparently a Christian which is a big up as far as Gibbs is concerned.

If Ginn is still available in the 5th or 6th round, I would have no problem drafting him and giving him any sort of project they hand to him.

But I wouldn't do anything of the sort with the #6 pick.

You want the ball in Cooley's hands and you want it in Moss' hands. As long as you have NFL competent players around them (i.e. not Taylor Jacobs and Jimmy Farris), we will be fine.

Colston kicks ASS!! Heard he has a bad attitude but as long as he can walk the walk I guess.....ARE is a decent No. 2 but he adds so much more. Kick/punt returns, Option plays, WR endarounds, you name it. I think GTRIPP is right on the money. We have friggin MOSS. SANTANA MOSS. Come on. We have Cooley, who I believe is a Pro-Bowl caliber TE. Get the ball in their hands for christ's sakes. Lloyd can leave for all I care. We also have Thrash on the bench who I know some people dont like but, I think he's great. He really embodies what this team is. He comes out and will make the crucial block or the miracle 3rd down catch. Hard worker and team player. We also have Espy on the bench who I also believe has some skill. Dont we have some dude named Ortega or something too?

Point is, we really dont need too much more depth at WR I think. yes, bringing him in to switch to CB is a thought but, not when you have basically one friggin pick! (thanks again FO!) We could try to use him as a trade down chip but, I think we leave Ginn Jr. be. Besides, if we DID pick him, you know he'd want to be a WR opposite Moss. Jesus, that would be sick. Two yards after catch BEASTS!

i dont like ginn at all with that pick. how about this laron landry....absolute stud and i think he would sure up the safety spot we need....we can address the dline in free agency...which would be better anyways, i always like a veteran dline. i think our dline is only 1 player away from being damn good and that is at tackle opposite of griff. that being said i would be ok with jamal anderson.

laron landry isnice but we wont pass up all 3 top d lineman in this draft what we should do is sign london flecther-baker move lemar to weak sdie to compete with rocky, draft either adams,branch,anderson, or trade down and get obkoye (didnt spell that right) and sign nate clements and maybe rod hood from the eagles and we should be good

Which bring's me to Ginn, this guy is a phenomenal athlete, although he is a little raw as a reciever I don't want him as a reciever, I saw on a clip that he played CB in high school and he has hinted that he would like to play CB again, this kid could be the next Daryl Green his return skills are off the charts, I do believe he's been clocked in the 4.29 range. If we trade down once, maybe twice, he would still be available between 10 to 15 and we could snag 1, maybe 2, 2nd rd picks.

I know that the consenses is to take the D-lineman, but I find it hard to believe that any of the top lineman can impact the game like this kid, he has the potential to be a lockdown CB which we may need more than a D-lineman, and he could be this year's Devin Hester who can stay on the field, he is a better ball player over all than Hester regardless of where you play him. But I still want to see if any of these lineman are bonified.

Let's not get caught up in picking a lineman because of need and really not filling that need talent wise and come to find out next year we still need a pass rusher that happens all to often with a lot of these lineman, I would suggest to the Skins coaching staff to bring him in for a private workout and see if he shows the kind of coverage skills needed to succeed in the NFL, or can he be taught like Green was? Something tells me this kid is the sleeper in this draft if used properly![/quote]

First of all why in the world would we take a receiver unless it was CJ, which even that would seem ridiculous, secondly why would we waste our 6th pick on drafting a receiver hoping to make him a CB which is totally absurd. Thirdly you talk about not knowing if one of the three D-lineman are game changers, well I would sure think they would be more of a game changer than trying to convert a WR to CB. Sorry just had to rant a little bit.

Pay attention please, the only way I want him is if he is moved to CB which is easier to play than WR, and I only want him if it allows us to trade down and accumulate more picks, I will also say a shutdown CB is probably the second most valued position behind the QB position, so unless these linemen are dominating game changers I say don't use the 1 pick we have on a player that windes up being average or slightly above average just because we have a need. Ginn has Darrell Green type of athletic ability, I am not saying he is green but he could very well be that kind of player at CB.

I would further that by saying I would probably take Landry who will winde up being a better player at safety than any of these linemen will be at thier positions, but thats what happens when you don't know anything about personel, we are stuck with AA's contract and still need a safety. Would we even be discussing D-line if we had drafted Merriman from the get go?

I still want to see more on all 3 of these perspective linemen.

Again , Offiss , did NOT suggest the team pass on Branch/ Anderson and take Ginn at six , he said on a trade down . I would like to see us draft 2 DL , after trading down ,,, but Ginn is a scary weapon no less and would likely have more td's in 07 than Loyd and R El did in 06 .
