oh, meant to say also that i'd love to see Lavar back, maybe by mid to late season he would have his legs back & could fill in w/some big minutes for us.
It would be sweet to see him make some big plays in the playoffs like he did in Tampa in 06.
It was in an interview which was subsequently televised on ESPN. And there was no mucking about or he meant this or that. I saw the interview, the question was direct and so was the answer:

Q: "Who is the worst coach you ever played for?"
A: "Joe Gibbs"

There was no follow up, or additional "if, ands, or buts". You could even see that reporter was somewhat shocked by the answer.

LaVar aint coming back.
Oh, I missed it, well if thats the case, i dont think he should come back, but i still like Lavar

Not trying to side with Lavar here, but we did have the 31st ranked defense, I dont see how you can praise GW
You make some good points, however you are underestimating the chemisty factor. LaVar would be terrible for chemistry. Plus where is he gonna play?? With the signing of Fletcher we now have good depth at linebacker. Is Lavar gonna play special teams?? Is Lavar gonna keep his mouth shut?? All reasons why they will not bring him back, not even for the vetern minimum!
Yeah I agree, he's an emotional roller coaster and would have some major fence-mending to do if he were ever going to be a part of this team again. Plus he's a real prideful guy, and may not be able to swallow his pride and accept a role player's job for old Gibbs. All reasons why I've been saying all along it probably wouldn't happen.

But vet minimum? You have to admit, when you weigh the costs and benefits, there's really nothing to lose. If he acts up and is a pain in the ass in the locker room, just cut his ass and move on. Or if he's not learning the schemes, just cut him and move on. There's no cap ramification for cutting someone making the vet minimum.

Re: Crazy Lavar Rumor!

What if the guy comes back for the vet minimum and balls out of control? With everything that has gone on with him and team, his even considering coming back to me speaks volumes. That should count for something. Hey it really wouldn't be that bad for the vet minimum. Remember he paid(4 million was it?) to get out of his contract.

LOL HE'S NOT COMNG HOME. WOULD YOU BOO HIM THE FIRST GAME AT FED EX IF HE DID FOR THOSE REMARKS?

I remember all the crap he said back when he left. I really hated him for it, I honestly don't want him back on our team. His body has broken down and he is the biggest whiner. Remember last year when we finally got back to the playoffs and one of the first stories reported that week was how Lavar was upset about something? I can't remember what it was because I was exited we were in the playoffs. I mean seriously keep this guy off our team and out fo the locker room. We are better off.

Yeah... I wouldn't praise GW....

"(GW)As the Defensive Coordinator, the Titans led the league in total defense and only gave up 191 points, the third fewest in the NFL since the league adopted the 16-game schedule in 1978. The defense also helped lead the Titans to Super Bowl XXXIV"

In Washington, with Williams' aggressive defensive scheme, the Reskins' defense ranked 3rd in the NFL in 2004 and 9th in 2005.

He's had one bad year... lets take it easy buddy.

I'd still rather have him than Jeff Posey. I don't think it's unreasonable to have two good backup LB's. With Fletcher, Washington and Macintosh as the starting guys, Marshall, and Arrington would be nice to have as backup/rotation. I'd like to throw Arrington in from time to time just to scare opposing QB's. As a player, it is scary when a guy on the other team is playing balls out in an unpredictable way. Flusturing to say the least.

I'm sure he got a dose of reality with the Giants. I'd welcome him back if he seemed humbled a little.

what exactly has mcintosh shown us, with his 4 snaps of professional football experience, that should make anyone believe he can hold down a starting job when he couldn't even beat out warrick "doormat" holdman?

maybe after he shows up in some preseason games against #1s or something, but until then, i still need to see proof first.

Re: Crazy Lavar Rumor!

Anyone here think Grill is gonna OK Lavar being back?

Let's see he:

1. Couldn't play within the scheme the first time around.
2. Became a locker room malcontent
3. Stood by his AGENTS against the team when his AGENTS clearly wronged him and Snyder even offered to compromise
4. Feuded with coaches
5. Mouthed off about both Gibbs and William's defense after he was gone
6. Signed within the division and promptly didn't do squat even when healthy
The list goes on and on.

That is what makes the Fletcher deal good for us. We can move Marshall back to his old position where he did fine for us...

Re: Crazy Lavar Rumor!

This is interesting...Lavar is probably done and thats a shame, he did kinda get f***ed by the skins, and when your knee is shot and you loose the edge you had when you could fly side-line to side-line and have trouble settling down and learning to play in the system you might get a little frustrated. Noone in the organization had his back, and he couldn't deal with the fact that he would no longer be the allstar he once was so I can see where some of his angry comments came from...and Im sure Gibbs could see that too...but in all honesty I doubt he could pass the physical...I think he's done, at least for now.

They did have a scheme. Washington and Holdman on the outside, Marshall in the middle and Lavar on the watercooler.

Your Right. After learning about 8 or 9 different kinds of defensives. I think he just wanted to do what he knows best FIND THE BALL AND TACKLE. Remember the playoff run in 05 he had some big plays down the stretch.

Re: Crazy Lavar Rumor!
You know something, I really think we need to look at this from LaVar's point of view. He was the face of this team for his entire tenure in Washington, except for maybe his last year. I feel bad for the guy, I mean, the coaches just came in and booted him, and let freaking WARRICK HOLDMAN play instead of him! I'm sure he was very upset, and I'm sure there are probably a lot of players who would not be able to bite their tongues when they leave a situation like that. Imgaine if you busted your ass for a company for six years, were known as a key guy in the company, then a new boss comes along, and they just fire you. Would you be able to walk away and just bite your tongue? I know for a fact I wouldn't!!!!!
If he wants to come in for a low price, I'd really like to have him back. This is unlikely, but he's man, he should be able to sit down like a man and have a talk with Gibbs and Williams and so they can tell him exactly what his role will be on the team. If anything, I believe that most of the players would like to have him back, and he'll bring a swagger to our defense that was missing last year.
They don't want to hear this ..many fans at Fedex do though...

Re: Crazy Lavar Rumor!

This is about a month old. I really really hate talking about Lavar in excess, but I guess there is not much else to talk about since we're not going crazy in the free agency this year.

"I have to decide if playing football is in my head or in my heart," Arrington said. "If it's in my heart, I'll come back for an attractive situation. If it's in my head, I'm done. I have a few other options for my life outside football. I'm not going to say I'm Tiki Barber, but I'm not chopped meat...If this is the end, I'm glad the Giants gave me a chance to prove myself. I'm just disappointed things didn't work out for all of us."

From : Lavar Arrington: 'I May Just Retire' | NFL Blog - The FanHouse

In my opinion he should just retire... but if he is healthy, I guess he'd be an okay special teamer.

He should sign a one day contract and retire a Redskin. Thats it

Re: Crazy Lavar Rumor!

its not the skins fault that he didnt read his contract before he signed it. Its lavar fault and his agents. The skins didnt screw lavar. Everyone loves Lavar but he never lived up to the hype. His best years were with Marty and Lewis the other year were ok. Love to have him back at the min.
