He had more catches than Jacobs, what now?

That's cause Gibbs never truly gave Jacobs a chance. It was all a conspiracy set up by Gibbs and Bubba Tyer to keep TJ on the sidelines. If you can't see that, well then you're just blind ;)

Re: Hardest Hitting Safety.

What about the hardest hitter pound-for-pound? I would have to say Ronnie Lott since he was only 200. Brian Dawkins is another guy who clobbers people despite being relatively small. Alvin Walton was definitely the man too (he only weighed 180!). Anybody under 200 who can blast people like that has respect in my book.

Ronnie Lott all time...Sean Taylor currently playing. In the future, my son. :D

Ramsey kept throwing to Jacobs in practice (he is a legendary practice player) messing up Gibbs plan making him upset which led to Ramsey never getting a fair shot.

Sean Taylor will be remembered for arguments sake the hardest hitting safety. I believe that you have only seen 90% of what his motor has got!

Re: Hardest Hitting Safety.

Talking about hits did anyone see the kid who got ran over at the CSU game. The kid received around 14 stiches but was ok and back playing like a kid does. This clip only really shows the hit but the player laid there and you could tell was really upset about the incident.

Ref to the rescue!

Seriously, what was the kid doing that close to the field and left to run around freely...especially when the players are obviously playing in that end of the field.

Some parents.:benched:

Glad he's ok though. He'll have a nice story to tell (with video evidence) about the scar when he's older, unless his parents let him play on railroad tracks.

Any man that would cut the tip of his finger off just to stay in the game has got to strike fear.... that would make it Ronnie Lott

Sean Taylor of course...

Re: Hardest Hitting Safety.

Currently: Sean Taylor, Lynch, and i suppose Williams though it pains me to say it, Polamalu can also put a lick on somebody

All-time: toss up between Lott and Atwater, followed closely by woodson in his hayday, Jack Tatum might be up there except for the cheap shot...still he actually killed a man, thats gotta count for something

I watched both Lott and Atwater. For some reason, Atwaters hits stick out a little more to me. Lot on the other hand, would punish his own body just as much as the oppenent.

If memory serves me correctly he had a couple of bad shoulders at the end of his career.

Re: Hardest Hitting Safety.

I'll say this too. The little I do remember of Jack Tatum, he was probably considered the hardest and nastiest hitter ever. Many still regard him as such.

Bald head and all. Wasn't he a Cardinal or a Packer or both. i remember seeing him hit someone and when he got up his face was a bloody hell. He was a hell of a hitter.

Chuck Cecil was banned from the league and he weighed 185. He demolished one of our tight ends who was at least 80 pounds bigger. The helmet went flying.

Re: Hardest Hitting Safety.

chuck cecil was a living god in arizona and feared through out the nfl.....nobody wanted to be lined up by that guy, ol ron middleton got knocked out twice in the same year by the that 185 pound nutball. ha like like the reaper said man, this guy was 185 pounds and was banned from the league because he ear holed so many guys....but as of right now, i think we can say sean mutha effing taylor is the most feared guy in the league when you go over the middle. although lav coles might have something to say about that.
