its weird, I throw to Gardner all the time in 2k5. Which is weird becuase I usually throw to my right side receiver, and coles most of the time. But Gardners routes seem to work well in the game and he hasnt dropped one yet for me.
|
I've had gardner drop a few but overall he does an ok good. today I whomped up on the cowpies 59-14,lol.
|
just like real life, i can't count on Gardner nearly as much as i can on Coles. you guys on All-Pro? MUCH more realistic.

I dunno, i'm guessing its on normal level cuz I just start a quick game after popping it in. don't have the time to make many adjustments, just enough to play the game, but I'm sure I'll try it when I buy it this week. |

All-pro is tough. Just moved up from pro. On pro, all I had to do was give Portis the ball (but I could throw a lot if I had too), on All-pro, you have to be more balanced and Portis really has to earn his yards. Still I got a win in my first All-pro game. Usually when I move up, the first game I get my butt kicked. Taylor kicks some serious ass in this game. He gets a good number of picks and gets his share of tackles. |

Yup, but I've tweaked the sliders to give me a slight advantage, but I'm still not doing too well. Although I did have Taylor reurn an INT 68 yards for a TD Lol, just have to get used to it I guess. |

It is tougher, haven't played with the sliders yet. I got a little lucky on my first game on All-pro as I was down 10-7, 20 secs, no timeouts, and hit Thrash across the middle and he outran everyone for a game winning 61-yd TD. Defintiely have to play a lot of good Def and play a little more conservative or the cpu will kill you. Anything thrown Taylor's way, get those arms up and good things happen. |
Gibbs is on the sidelines. as is his playbook. how's great is this? counter-treys from every formation?
Gotta love the Gibbs playbook. I have to be careful not to outrun the blockers on the counter as Portis is so quick. Once Portis gets behind them and they block good, you can start to que up "Hail to the Redskins!" |
Can you guys tell me what formations they have on Gibbs playbook? Thats sick that they have counter treys on every formation.
|
All-Pro is dope. its realistic in that its TOUGH to score, no videogame 50-40 point games. just being Portis doesnt give you 200 yds. you have to match up the blocks with motion, follow your blocks and really time the moves after you break from the line. in the air you really get the feeling of carefully lobbing balls over defenders or leading to open recievers in stride with maximum passing. good stuff. have to work at what you get.

you can choose by package (personnel), so they have all the formations available with any personnel you want. AND you can sub in and swap key players in the formation AT the play call screen! i use the many variations of Ace formation with the two TEs, two WRs to spread out the DBs and Portis. then i motion the TEs to wherever i need them depending on what the defense shows. there are many formations and variations of Bunches and Flips (with the TE back a bit), so you can show tons of different looks, but still Counter-Trey all day :) |

I might have to get 2k5 just to hole me down until Madden comes out. Thanks man. |
if you didnt buy it yet then dont. not for franchise mode atleast. For head to head its not bad. For franchise mode though, its completly inferiour to madden. Madden comes out in what, 10 days now...cant wait! expecially wiht the ratings avaiable to see our team. THey look AWESOME! 2k5 shafted us

I was seriously considering buying it, but now I'll just save my twenty bucks and pick up a 12 pack. Madden is going to great. I already ordered mine. I should have it by 9/13. Can't wait. |
I was goign to order it, until I realized that meant it had to be shipped. I want it the day it comes out, not 2-3 days later, or even the next day. heh. my girlfriend will be out of town which means Madden will be my means of excitment.

I hear that. My girl bitches about me playing all the time. She thinks I'm too old for it. Maybe I can get her to go outta town that week too! |
shes doesnt care, but when Madden comes out I plan on getting through a season within two days, so she probably wouldnt liek that to much, heh.

Damn! How many games can pull in one day? How long are your quarters? |
I play default 5 min qts, takes about 35-40 minutes a game. No job, no classes. You do the math, heh.

im getting Madden too but, you guys see the video grabs of Madden on IGN? http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/620/620934/vids_1.html it looks like...Madden. the players and lighting got a big upgrade, but man they move like toys compared to ESPN. totally not fluid. if you have access check the widescreen videos of the Skins vs. the Cards and see Portis do the spin move and break tackles. super videogamey. |

I completely DISAGREE, but whatever. I am not a video game superstar, so I just play pro-level. After a few quick games, started a franchise, went 2-2 in the pre-season, so far 2-1 in regular season. Using the Giants, lost to Philly 31-13 (it wasn't even this close, one TD was a 78 yard interception return, and the other was with 30 seconds left, missed the 2.) Beat the skins at home 38-21 and Cleveland 14-7. What I do find amusing are the EA vs. ESPN battles you see on some of the video game forums, they are hysterical. |
