Grim, I agree with you.. If JLaC wrote this or Howard Bryant we wouldn't be as up in arms.. I can't stand her typically, but what did she say that was so incorrect?

Springs and Taylor are our 2 best players in the secondary. A secondary that allowed [B][I][U]30[/U][/I][/B] TD passes last year. They need to be there, regardless if it is voluntary or not.

Until proven otherwise, Gibbs 2.0 has been a failure so calling it what it is doesn't make it negative, it makes it a fact.

Taylor does the same thing every year the only reason he showed up last year was the fact he had to be on his best behavior because of the charges agianst him, charges dropped, Taylor missing, what else is new. And as usual Gibbs sending out his plea for Taylor to get in touch with him through the media, [perhaps he should put his picture on the back of a milk carton] It's not like any of this extra work has provided progress for the skins, Gibbs has players working thier tails off so they can take the field on opening day and then watch the teachers pet in Brunell stink the place up, it's very easy to lose the players confidence with that kind of decision making. Although it is a different scenerio this year with Campbell starting the same mind set is in place.

Personally I don't think Springs is a money prob, I believe at his age he's very anxious for a championship becuase he doesn't have much time left and doesn't believe Gibbs is remotly close as a coach any more to a championship, and want's to go some where where he has a chance to compete for one.

Isn't ironic that during 05 when the SKINs went on the winning streak and made the playoffs after Sally wrote that famous "The NY GIANTS are a shining example on how to team build" and they were out in Round One while we advanced, we heard nothing from her.

and now she comes out of the wood work to kick us after a 5-11 season.

Here is the email I wrote her last night and her two responses.

"I just finished reading your column on Sean Taylor and Shawn Springs.My question is this...Have you ever written anything good about the team? I can't remember a single article you've written that had something positive to say. Where does this bias come from? And why, if you hate the team so much, do you continue to write articles about it. How could you possibly quote Chris Carter in your article? What has he done that you feel he is an expert "insider" and knows exactly what different coaches are doing? Have you seen him on HBO? His opinions are a joke and I feel it reflects on you as a columnist that you would use his opinion. It is obvious you were just looking for some filler for your article. At least, for your sake, I hope that is the case. Because if it isn't, you've lost all credibility as far as I'm concerned.Please do us all a favor and and stick to covering cycling or whatever it is you write that no one cares about. P.S. Sally, It's nice to know that you wrote such nice things about players that are no longer Redskins, except MB and he won't be for long.

I'm also not suprised with your fondness for spurrier...he was good for a laugh, even as an NFL coach. That's a real educated guess that he would have grown into thew job, in ol, maybe if you gave him 20 years.

Funny, when they were winning 2 years ago she didn't write anything good either. The fact that she liked Spurriers tenure is even more comical. She enjoyed a coach that didnt work hard, know the players, or believe defense was important. That was "fun".

This thread is very similar to the "Sh@t Talkers" thread. When you stink and you know it, you don't appreciate hearing anyone else call you out, especially when it's in front of other people. Just as gabe1984 got mad when his friend's boyfriend started hating on the Skins, we get disgusted with the likes of Sally Jenkins, Len Pastabelly, and Peter King for writing deprecating articles. But the bottom line is, we've only been to the playoffs once this decade, have made numerous front office gaffes, and have an owner that has a history of bad judgment, overspending, and meddling. We're an easy target. It sucks. I'll never stop loving my team, and just like gabe1984 and everyone else, I'll always be mad when people hate.

HAIL DAMMIT!! I can't wait to prove the doubters wrong this fall...

First of all I thinks its cool you got her to respond. I liked your email to her also.

This was the only time she bad mouthed Gibbs by saying he's lost touch with his ability to communicate to his players......no big deal right.

Sally isn't passionate about the Skins and hates Snyder. For all of Snyder's mistakes marketing the Redskins and bringing Gibbs back is not one of them. He has done everything in his ability to provide a winning football team to the Skins Fans. I praise him for that.

Her email is so out of touch that it makes me feel better how stupid she actually is. We should all bum rush her inbox with emails detailing how we don't appreciate those types of articles in the Washington Post when we're tyring to read up on our team in early May.

I blame the WaPo for hiring her. With the exception of Boswell, all of their writers have their hearts somewhere else. Send Wilbon back to Chicago so he can cover his beloved Bulls and Bears. Send T.K. to Binghampton so he can drive up and have lunch with Boeheim every Tuesday. The Post sucks.

What really needs to happen is for the Redskins to start doing business the way most of us on this site have agreed they need to do. When this happens, there won't be as many negative article's written about them. Sally will eat too when our organization begins to do business the conventional way, and win football games. We have to change our philosophy in order to accomplish that feat, once it occurs (if it does) I'm convinced much of the negativity will subside........Winning has a way of changing the negative perception.

i remember i was mad at ST for not picking up or returning multiple gibbs phone calls for a good month after the rv gun incident . .things have settled now, ST missing a week of voluntaries isnt a big deal but there seems to be poor communication through-out the organization . . even down to how we have safeties and cornerbacks meeting seperately during the reg season . . whatever it is lead to a lack of communication on the field last year . . leasons learned, our D is going to be alot better
