Thanks Earthquake,

Redskins.com doesn't say much about him, and the Detroit media is of course busy with Detroit teams. Skins.com, Pro Football Weekly, and Fox Sports, is all I have a lot of the time. Good to see he is practicing!!!!! Hope he stays true to form!!! Damn Wings took another dive!!!!!
Maybe it's on Lindsey to an extent. But isn't it (or is it) the responsibility of someone above Lindsey (Blache, Williams, Gibbs, Matty) to step in and say "Rocky's playing. You find a way to make it work" Or is that overstepping your bounds and not letting your subordinates do their job?
Absolutly! Regardles of what Lindsey may or may not have done, it is up to Williams to make the evaluation overall on defense, subordinates are there to serve the higharchy, letting them do their job and letting them make the final evaluation are two different things. They prepare a player for the NFL the coach deceids if he is ready to play, and the only way a coach would really know is by watching that player which I have to assume Williams does, you cannot follow an assistant blindly just based on his word.

As far as Rocky is concerned from what I saw of him he looked like a real good LB. He seemed to be able to disengauge from blockers instantly, I didn't really see anyone lock on to him, he also looked like he has the ability to get to the QB, hopefully he's up to speed with the rest of the defense which I think he has to be at this point.
Marshall took a step back last year. Whether it was due to injury or the overall collective collapse of the D who knows, but either way McIntosh is the young stud on the block who's physically a much more talented player.

I don't think it's written in stone that Rocky is starting ahead of Marshall. He's still going to have to solidify himself as the starter in training camp.
If Marshall took a step back last year then Rocky was a no show. If Rocky had wow-ed the coaches in training camp, preseason or in the regular season practices, he would have been in the rotation more. The fact is he did not so he was not in the games. He had plenty of opportunities. Some, if not all of the blame for Rocky's lack of PT has to be on Rocky.

Superior athletic ability does not always translate in to a better football player on the field. I fail to see that Rocky will have more up side than Lemar in the NFL until he can prove he even belongs. Lemar has proven it on an NFL regular season and more importantly playoff field.

It is typical of life in the NFL when a team does poorly there is a fall guy, deserving or not. Last years fall guy was LB coach.

I guess we'll never know why Rocky didn't see the field more last year. Either way, the fact he's penciled in as the starter right now tells me Williams has confidence in him and perhaps it wasn't all on Rocky last year.

You have to love Rocky if you're a skins fan. The guy doesn't complain at all about his lack of playing time when alot of other high draft choice rookies would. He does a heck of a job on special teams nailing people all over the place. Comes in late in the year and although he made mistakes it was always aggressive ones, not sitting back watching.

Coaches can live with a guy like that.

That is why he is penciled in above Marshall.

Marshall really climaxed in 2005 if you ask me. Never a starter. Won the job by default and made the most of it. He's on his decline.

i think his injuries, and our horrible line play lead to his decline in play. i look for a good year out of Marshall

I saw that but couldn't tell if he meant Mcintosh or Cartwright.
