I would like to respectfully recommend counseling at this time |
He was going to be our next LT but it never came to pass! To bad for him and us he never reached those high goals!
Who was "our" first LT? And as far as Lavar joining Comcast, I hope he punches B-Mitch in the mouth! |
Re: Lavar Arrington coming back to D.C.!!!
i can't believe all this crap over LaVar coming back to do a TV show. How quickly you all seem to forget and give B mitch a break. somehow you all seem to forget the trash he talked when he left. The man got his feelings hurt, damn give him a break. He is coming back to do a TV show and somehow that gets all mingled in with him and the team. You all are the most paranoid bunch of people I have ever seen.
you all really need to lighten up. how in the hell will he have any impact on this teams on field performance?? absolutely none! as far as him coming back to play football, so what. He is a football player, thats what he has done his whole life. If he wants to try and come back, that is his choice. If he can play great, if he can't... then he can't. He will have a job in TV, whether its with Comcast or someother network. He can do the TV thing. |
Re: Lavar Arrington coming back to D.C.!!!
Maybe we give B. Mitchell a break because he gave 100% on every Sunday . If Miitchell was asked to line up in the slot , he did it , play FB and block he did it , QB ,,,, you get the picture . What did LA do when asked to put his hand on the ground and rush the Qb ..... he compained ? I do not dislike Lavar , I just think he could have < should have > been much more consistant and much more of a playmaker .

he got 11 sacks and a pro bowl. he may have complained, but still put up good #'s. I dont want to get into what he did as a player. When he was healthy he was a good player, not the great player he was hyped up to be. He had a crappy last two years. i dont dispute that at all. But the dude isn't even on the team anymore, hasn't been for a couple of years and everyone still acts as if he's still here. When he was the face of the franchise there was not a more loved Redskin. I am, to a fault maybe, loyal the guy as some of us are. I was always loyal to B Mitch when he left, Monk, Mann, Manley, Mosley, clark all those guys when they left. In my heart they bleed burgandy and gold no matter where they finished their careers. And most of them have come back to be a part of the franchise they still consider themselves to be a part of. granted LA didnt' bring a winning team with him like all the previous guys I mentioned, but he was a part of this franchise for the better part of 6 six years. |
Re: Lavar Arrington coming back to D.C.!!!
Please keep in mind that LaVar didn't have a team before he got in a bad motorcycle accident. This was a former player before life threatening injuries. He isn't going to play again, here or elsewhere.
Put him on Comcast - let him do the weather for all I care. I'm so much more concerned about our 53 man roster than local TV's postgame analysis. |
Re: Lavar Arrington coming back to D.C.!!!
This will be great. LA thinks he's a very smart and insightful guy who is in reality a dummy. It will be great to watch and see what stupid things he will say.

Re: Lavar Arrington coming back to D.C.!!!
I think LA is alright he was always cool to the fans.
this leads me to a question: Who is Mr. Redskins right now? JC? |

Since 90% of Redskins fans fall into the "what have you done for me lately" category; three weeks ago it would've been Ladell Betts... Honestly, I think there's such an abundance of personality on the team now, that there isn't any single player that qualifies as Mr. Redskins. |

I'm sure he has considering he played in the NFL and I didnt. But I bet its not much more since I dont think he understood the schemes and strategy very well. What I mean is his habit of using 50 cent words that he does not know what they mean and his poor grammer. It all makes for interesting and funny statements. It should be entertaining. |

Yeah, I saw the announcement on Sportsnite this morning, they said Lavar is "one of the most loved Redskins ever".
I almost choked on my Cheerios. |

Re: Lavar Arrington coming back to D.C.!!!
I think most of us remember our former stars / childhood redskins hero's . I still think about the over the hill gang , McDole , talbert ,Hanberger , Fisher ,Sonny ,L. Brown , C. Taylor , K. Houston ,,, to Gibbs 3 SB teams , Mann , Manley , Coleman , Monk / Clark / Sanders ,JT, DW, the Hogs, Riggo and of course D. Green . And 10 years from now most will have nothing be praise for the S. Moss's / Samuals/Jansen , Sellars , JC , CP , St and LaRon .
On Comcast Sports Network,
Lavar will be joining the Redskins Kickoff Show, with Ray Brown, B=Mitch, and Co... I don't have a link but it sounds like he's going to be joining the crew permanently... should be interesting!
What happened to Steve ZABAN on Post Game Live ? Czaban is still on the show (unfortunately). His schedule is a little lighter because of travel issues that conflict with his other responsibilities. |

Re: Lavar Arrington coming back to D.C.!!!
I think they should have Brud Lee on the show so he can tell the Ottoman story.
|
Re: Lavar Arrington coming back to D.C.!!!
this could be interesting.
Lavar has some personality but that doesn't mean it will translate over the airwaves in the format of the studio. Give B-MItch credit for one thing; he doesn't pause at all & speaks his mind. I see Lavar struggling to adjust a little more. Wonder if he'll talk smack right off the bat about the organization, or better yet, if they'll ask him on the show what happened that caused things to go south? |

Secondly, I dont think I will have to much respect in him as a commentator he had a couple decent seasons, but left on a rocky grounds now he is going to be the one commenting on game play, and criticizing players and coaches of the redskins ? LA didn't even have a job when he crashed a motorcycle driving without a license. Bring back Zaban at least he would bring stats and facts to the post game live. I just want to know if we will start seeing his Eastern Motors Commercials again "Where your job is your credit !" |
I got three #56's in my closet any takers?
LOL...I have two. An original home Arrington (made before he decided not to sign with the NFLPA) and an away (after he signed with the NFLPA). |
Re: Lavar Arrington coming back to D.C.!!!
arrington will never play for the skins again!i think the argument he got into with the skins front office torched all the bridges he'd burned here!

Re: Lavar Arrington coming back to D.C.!!!
I am thrilled, I would be even more thrilled if he continues to rehab and is able to play for us again next season!!!!! That is truly the best news, I love Lavar!!!!!
Most of what he had to say took place during the time that Spurrier was coach and he had not received the bonus he was promised partially because his agents screwed up, and his sentiments plus injuries started to transfer to the new coaching staff, bottom line he felt like he was disinfranchized and that created the bad blood to begin with. I think we are all past that now and would welcome him back!!!!!
Why would you want a washed-up LB when we already have a solid LB Corp? It just does't make any sense at all. Lavar was never the player we though he was going to be when we drafted him. Face it...we all had pictures of #56 LT in Redskin colors... bt the potential never turned out. As much as I'd love for him to work out here is DC he just is better with a suit on...let face it...its over for Lavar! |
Re: Lavar Arrington coming back to D.C.!!!
lavar is done. he will never play again in the NFL. like it was stated earlier he wasnt even on team before his motorcyle accident. never lived up to expecations here.

I think he did well here for a few years, but injuries killed his career here. If he never lived up to expectations, our expectations were too high. He was a perennial pro bowler, and we hadn't had that in a long while. |

Mine too.... Poeple around here Hate Lavar... It's as if he did something to them personally...No one knows what really happened behind the scenes... But I do know he gave the Redskin's 110% for years... And that was during the bad times... But no one cares... Oh now we have the good times so hate the core Skins that struggled during the bad times...I do know there were more Lavar jerseys at Fedex than any other player BY FAR... he still remains very popular talking to fans at Fedex... |

I can't speak for everyone else, but I dont think anyone HATES Lavar. That said, He will never play in the NFL again. He has injuries that will never allow him to play like the Lavar of old. With that in mind I wouldn't like to see him come back to the skins. I mean, IF he could be healthy enough it would be nice, then I could wear his jersey again, but I just don't see it happening. Also, others are saying that it wont happen because of the way things were left. That is a legitimate argument (I guess), and I don't think they are saying it out of hatred towards him. |

Dear cynical supporter, first of all why are you cynical? Cooke, Allen, Baugh, Jurgensen, Lombardi, Kilmer, George Preston Marshall, and I believe even Bubba Tyer all preceed Joe Gibbs. The previous names are in no certain order.... Where does your 90% guarantee come from? LA revealed his stripes and 31 other organizations can have him. As far as TV goes, I usually put games I'm watching on mute....We could use a few less cynics around here! We are 2-0! Hail |
