24-20 redskins win when they play the giants for the 1st time.

IMO every game is crucial , as fans we can opt. to lose our lunch early in the season or get a firm grip and enjoy the ride. I perfer the warrior attitude..."Take no prisoners!"
There beating horrible teams, there secondary is weak, but they have only played one team that could throw the ball, and that would be the Giants, who have no run game to speak of so they really couldnt balance there offense, yet still put up 35 on Dallas, in Dallas. I wont give them credit for beating bad teams. Just so you know Dallas' opponents have a combined record of 2-13, yeah they definately have faced some challenges, great team those cowboys.
I never said they were great. I just said they are beating the teams they are suppose to beat. We lost to the Giants at home blowing a big lead. |

Thats the whole point of this thread (calling dallas great) and you seem to agree with that, just going by what im reading. |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
I never said the Skins were playing great teams or that they were going to the superbowl DID I?
No. Good thing too. But before we throw the "play real teams" thing out there. lets take a look at that statement for a moment. I agree that all the teams Dallas has played are having bad seasons. But good teams beat the teams they are supposed to beat, and they beat them convincingly. Dallas has done precisely that all month. The last 3 teams they played....Miami, Chicago and St Louis, all had top 10 defenses, and the Dallas offense has dominated them convincingly as well. And if our secondary sucks so much...then why does the Dallas Cowboys lead the league in interceptions and turnover margin? Have we played a team with a winning record....no. That will not happen for 2 weeks when we play New England. All I can say is I am very encouraged is all. Nothing more, nothing less. |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
I am vomiting for a different reason. I have TO on my fantasy team and he sucked today and they still kicked ass. Dallas looks good and we can't get a TD from the red zone with CP on the sideline...I think I am gonna puke
|
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
No question, they look good but it's not how you start, it's how you finish. I am not ready to crown them just yet but they're definitely the best team in the NFC East right now.
|
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
Prediction: Patriots f'n obliterate the Cowpokes in a couple of weeks.
You can't beat up on one-dimensional or pathetic teams and act like there's a superbowl on the horizon. Cowboys MAY be the best NFC team TODAY. That's it. |

I would agree that our back 7 match up well against the Cowboys and our D will be the best they face in the East. |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
Agreed. TO can't forget the hit Taylor put on him last year. While our safety tandem has not been an overwhelming presence so far (outside a Taylor int and Landry's hit on the goal line to end the Eagle's game) I think their time is fast approaching. By Nov. 18 Landry and Taylor will be in a routine of crushing receivers over and over again.

Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
Let's breakdown the Cowboys:
QB- Romo so far looks like a Pro-bowler WR-T.O., Crayton and Hurd look great and improving weekly, wait if and when Glenn gets back (more trouble) RB-Barber has been playing like a Pro-bowler in my opinion, Jones is starting to play better. TE-Witten looks like a Pro-bowler, good depth with Fasano Offensive line-Has been great, all players doing their job DE-Ware is a beast, Canty, Ellis and Spears are pretty solid DT-Ratliff looks better than Ferguson LB-Fast and good tacklers, playing great Safeties- Look great DB-Just got better now that Newman is back, Henry has had a great season so far. Kicker and Punter-Have been consistent Coaching-Jason Garrett has called great aggressive plays on offense Injuries-Ferguson (season ending) Glenn (might be back)Newman (is back)Gregg Ellis (is back and had 1 1/2 sacks today) Let's be honest here, we are all Skins fans in this forum but you have to give the opposition whether you like them or not their due. It will be tough for us with our injuries on offense and lack of pass rush from our ends. It still is a long season and anything can happen, maybe the injury bug will hit them like us. |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
And if our secondary sucks so much...then why does the Dallas Cowboys lead the league in interceptions and turnover margin?.
Because your offense is insanely talented and putting up points so fast that these shitty quarterbacks you've been playing are forced to press and throw interceptions. If a defense keeps your O in check, we'll find out if you guys are for real or not. No disrespect, you guys are tops in the division, at least until next week. |

I'm honestly more impressed with the Packers so far based on who they've beat.

Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
unfortunately the cowboys look great, romo looks spectacular, the play i saw him do today I cant remember having seen any qb do,not saying it hasnt been done, but i dont remember it,he's in shotgun and the snap goes over his head and he's 20 yrds deep behind the line of scrimmage and trys to pick it up but misses and slaps it another 10 yrds back{granted, this was not the smartest thing to do,logic says just fall on the ball}then picks up the ball, jukes one defender and runs for the first down,it was an amazing play,I only wish a redskin had pulled off this play.Did anybody else see that?

That same type of play resulted in them losing a playoff game last year. I wouldn't take that play as a sign of his greatness. |

Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
Im going to put this in perspective for the OP. The cowboys have played the Giants, Dolphins, Bears and Rams.
Dallas 45 Giants 35 We only gave up 24 points to the Giants, and if Al Saunders would have called a better game and kept the defense off the field it would have been a much different outcome. How can you comment on this game and team when your team couldn't beat them.. You love Campbell deep ball but he couldn't torch the worst secondary, and couldn't score a point in the second half Dallas 37 Miami 20 Another bad team, actually one of the worst in the NFL, if not the worst... And yet you needed overtime to beat them Dallas 34 Chicago 10 Did you watch Chicago against the Lions today, enough said. Dude say what you want but they are the NFC Champions and Detroit beat them because 5 starters of that defense are injured and the offense is even worse than last year but still they're the NFC Champions Dallas 35 Rams 7 The Rams are right there with the Dolphins, they cant throw, they cant run and they cant stop anyone... Can't argue here other than good team should beat bad team and show dominance and we did, the Steelers couldn't beat a bad Arizona team.. I'm not saying will get to the SB but C'mon to say but to go out and state like they haven't done anything please |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
If you want to crown them now go ahead but it's a long year and I say this now ,I'm picking the Skins over the Boys becuase of Gibbs!

All evidence to the contrary, surrendering 24 unanswered points on your home field in the second half against the Giants.
If you want to crown them now go ahead but it's a long year and I say this now ,I'm picking the Skins over the Boys becuase of Gibbs!
No, your picking the 'Skins becuase the Giants couldn't get the job done. |

Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
Why is Romo better? is it because he puts up big numbers. Romo is a good QB, but the season is four games long, hell Matt Schaub is having a great season, does that mean the Texans are going to the Superbowl. You obviously dont understand something, big numbers doesnt always equal superbowl wins. Roethlisberger never throws for a ton of TD or yards, but guess what hes got a superbowl ring, Dan Marino put up huge numbers and after today(thanks to Brett Favre) really has nothing to show for it, big numbers mean nothing if you cant hold the ball on a field goal attempt when your team needs you the most, give Romo some more games before you jump on his crotch, he was pretty bad in the games leading up to the playoffs last year, so give it some time.
Dallas right now is the 2nd or 3rd best team in the NFL. Now one is saying Romo makes that team, they all are playing very well. The D is coming on and getting pressure from the end. TO is vertually unstopable. Witten will start getting more involved and the running game is coming around. Plus Glen is still not playing. They are playing as good as anyone in the league. Has nothing to do with numbers, its not a fluke they put up 35 a game. if we were so good brother, we would have put up the same #'s or better, right? |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
I am taking nothing away from the Cowboys as I think they are the best team in the NFC RIGHT NOW. One injury to TO or to Romo make them a mediocre team. If they stay healthy, they will be tough to beat and will go deep into the playoffs.
This is a LONG season, no need to be crowning anybody, NOT even the Pats at this point. |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
Good teams beat who they are suppose to beat. Cowboys are for real and Romo is the real deal.
exactly!! my point from another thread last week. Everyone wants to make excuses about why we lose. Good teams win the games they should win, and if the teams Dallas has beaten end up as crappy teams, well, the did what they should have. Dominated them. Cant say the same for us can we?? |

How does NE stomping Dallas take anything away from Dallas? They're good, and that's all there is too it. We can stand by with our arms folded all we want, but the Cowboys are a really good team. I won't project any Super Bowls yet because anything can happen 13 weeks from now. But are they one of the top two or three teams in the league right now, probably so. |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
The cowboys look pretty good right now. A good run game and an excellent pass game. Romo (i really can't stand the guy) has "it," whatever it is. He just seems to make plays that average QB's can't.
This weekend could be a tough game for the skins. Anyone who is expecting a blowout needs to rethink this. With our trouble scoring points, mixed w/ their passing game and WR's...could be trouble. Not to mention our trouble getting to the QB w/ our front 4. We should win but it's not going to be easy. |

Is there any point to this discussion at all? Glad the bye week is over.

WOW, you know what, this site is great. Not because of some people praising Dallas, don't get me wrong. I mean I can only imagine how hard it is to say what paulskinsfan just said coming form a Redskins fan. I am a member of Cowboys discussion boards, and let me tell you, there might be few of them who will say the Redskins are good when they are 4-0, but most of them won't. There are far more intelligent FOOTBALL fans here than any other site I have been too. |

I hate having this opinion, but Im not going to watch football with Burgundy colored glasses. We are better as a team this season, clearly, but we are not at the Boys level yet. That being said, I do think the Skins match up with them very very well on defense, and the Skins could win when they play later this season. |

I have to admit tha the Redskins D is playing 10 times better than last year. Last year was a bad one especially when they were the only team with no forced TO in like 10 or 12 games. I am not like most fans, any given Sunday, I think any team can win. I think the Redskins will have a say in who wins the NFC East. Lots of fans here get down quickly even though their team still above 500. |

It may have been posted before but Dallas will most likely be 5-0 after next week(Buffalo on MNF). The game against NE is critical for everybody else in the East. They follow that game against Minnesota at home. They could very well be 6-1 or maybe even 7-0 before they have 3 straight against the East. They could runaway with this division. The Redskins need to win every week as long as Dallas is playing so well. |
