Re: Redskins Stadium music
There is no possible way that the stadium can accomodate everyone's preferences. I will admit that compared to other stadiums Fed Ex is lacking in certain features but it is were the Redskins play and that is enough for me.
If you do decide to stay home please make sure a Redskins fan gets your tickets. |
Re: Redskins Stadium music
next time someone behind me asks me to sit down on 3rd and short with our D on the field I am going to rip their Redskins jersey off of their body and give it to a deserving orphan who might have some heart and pride in his team. It's F'in football people, it's the 12th man. Why don't you get loud and stand up and support your team with me? Sorry about the rant, i guess it happens everywhere but i think there are some real pussy redskins fans out there representing me, and my team

Re: Redskins Stadium music
It could be because they pay a flat fee to have the rights to play certain songs in the stadium. They cannot just play any song without paying to do so and maybe the NFL has a deal or the skins have a deal where they pay to have a certain package of songs they can play. If they do not pay for the rights to play the song its like downloading music which we hear so much about these days.
They cannot just decide to play songs like I said above^^^^ |
Re: Redskins Stadium music
No doubt about staying home these days. Not that I am putting down my own female race here but I pride myself on being a true fan. That means no cell phone calls during the game, no trips to the bathroom during the game, paying attention and screaming my ass off on big defense situations. I was at the Lions game and I can't tell you how many assholes around me were more focused on drinking and trips to god only knows where than they were watching the Skins put on a hell of a performance. I think I pulled a freaking muscle getting up and down out of my seat so people could constantly get through.

Because I'd so rather shit all over everyone next to me, than go to the potty as quickly as possible and come back before I miss something vital. Come on, when you gotta go you gotta go. And some people like being completely smashed while watching the game *coughTMCcough* To each his/her own, I suppose. :D |

We are a race? That explains so much. I'm tired of "The Man" always trying to stick it to us. (Yeah, I know. I set that one up.) |

(Yeah, I know. I set that one up.)
HILARIOUS! Now I know why you've become a crowd favorite here. The music, I'm torn. It is supposed to get the crowd hyped, which in turn is supposed to get the players hyped. But it only works if the crowd and players have different tastes, and since all 11 starters on defense are black I'm going to guess that hip hop is a safe choice to get the defense hype. I get the point, and I agree, variety is the spice of life. THis thread does seem a little ticky-tack, kinda like "Cindy Crawford is fine, but what about that mole!" We're 3-1, if they have to play Soulja Boy on a nonstop loop to get a win, so be it. Personally, I'd rather see the players dancing to Soulja Boy than the crowd dancing at all. BTW, I was at Fedex on Sunday and LOVED the "We want Dallas" chant that got cranked up at the end of the game. |
Re: Redskins Stadium music
The hip-hop music doesen't get on my nerves as much if our team was winning. Whatever gets our players pumped up right? I dont' want to make it a racial issue, but that is what it is.
|
Re: Redskins Stadium music
I'm surprised nobody mentioned or Knew that the players tell them what to play when we are on Defense. I thought you guys knew that. They even wrote about it in the Washingtonpost or on Redskins.com awhile ago.
|
Re: Redskins Stadium music
I think this is one of those peripheral issues.

I don't think it's a racial issue at all and to make into a racial issue would be a very narrow way to look at it. Why do DJs choose to play hip hop and techno/dance/whatevers popular at clubs? Cause thats what tends to make people wanna get up and move. I mean sure metal can get people pumped, but besides headbanging what else can you do to it? I can imagine all the weird looks people would have on their face if some Trivium came on. I mean there are some good heart pumping rock tracks. Crazy Train is one of my favs. It's all about popularity and Soulja Boy's "Crank That" is number 1 on the pop billboard charts. Plain and simple. |
Re: Redskins Stadium music
Look at what this song is doing to our fans. They're either board out of their minds or they end up acting like idiots. No more gangsta rap, just stick to mainstream hip-hop, modern rock, and classics like Phil Collins (Hell I'd rather listen to emo then soulja boy).
YouTube - Redskins Soulja Boy Thats the great thing about soccer in Europe. They don't play music during the game, instead ALL THE FANS chant. Thats how you accomodate everyone. YouTube - Manchester United chant vs. Charlton |

Re: Redskins Stadium music
How'd you get that video of me?!?!
j/k What happens if people hate classic rock and mainstream hip hop? Should they crank country music (vomit) or pump some house BS throughout? You can't please everyone! |
Re: Redskins Stadium music
That video was a classic. lol they did play that song WAY too much. And there were 4 black kids behind me who were dancing to it every single time.

But I've heard that damn song so many times, I can't help but like it. :P As for Soulja Boy.. I don't think I'll ever like that song. :( I haven't been to a Skins game, is there any other music there that they overplay? |

while watching the youtube soulja boy video I saw this video

There are some country that might work well. 'Save a horse ride a cowboy' |
Re: Redskins Stadium music
I'd rather see the players dancing to Soulja Boy than the crowd dancing at all.
Except for the cheerleaders and pretty ladies in the stands I don't want to see anyone else dancing. The players should be dancing cause they're counting their millions. We are the only stadium in the NFL that allows players to pick music. The music is supposed to get the crowd pumped up and is intended to enhance your game day experience. The players should already be pumped up playing in front of 90,000 fans. Just want some tunes to get the blood flowing. Some of the stuff like the Soulja Boy (God I don't know how that song is #1 on the charts it's horrible) has no bass and like I said before you get puzzled, disgusted looks from 80% of the crowd when that crap is played. Then you have to try and get back in the game after it ends. It alienates most of the people in the stands. |
Re: Redskins Stadium music
There are some country that might work well.
'Save a horse ride a cowboy'
That song (and band) is pathetic. It is on the same level as boy bands and actresses releasing pop albums. It's so obviously about making money that I find it ironic that people actually buy it. Also, why would we want to play a song about COWBOYS?!?!?!?! |
Re: Redskins Stadium music
Also, if you've ever been to a game you'd know that they do play bands like AC/DC throughout the game. They pretty much only play stuff like Soulja Boy or that dumb Walk It Out song during timeouts when the D is on the field.
Would you rather they play YMCA or Carwash so that all the little kids and old people can dance like they do at baseball games? |

Hah! Something tells me that Sean Taylor, Carlos Rogers, and Marcus Washington wouldn't be youtubed dancing during a commercial break to YMCA. |
Re: Redskins Stadium music
First of all, I like a lot of music from the 60's and 70's.
Second, I didn't mean to mock old people dancing, per se. I love to see everyone (except the people rooting for the opposing team) having a great time at FedEx. Basically, what I meant was that I don't really understand what djdunick wants to hear at games. It's like he wants it to be a god damn dance party in the stands and he doesn't care that the players like to hear certain songs IN THEIR OWN STADIUM because it gets them pumped up to play better. |
Re: Redskins Stadium music
It's like he wants it to be a god damn dance party
God please, Absolutely not I get enough of that stuff when I DJ parties and bars. Just some fun stuff that the crowd can get into. PS. Again we really don't care about what the players want to hear, the point is to get the crowd revved up to help the players. Just take a listen to what other stadiums play and you'll get my drift. |
Re: Redskins Stadium music
Can we get some BL's album on the speakers. Atleast then, he'll be worth something.
