Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?
This was a tough vote. Portis got the nod for me, with his break out game. Suisham had an outstanding game and was more than worthy of a game ball. LaRon Landry was a beast and had a great game, worthy of note.
the 196 yds by portis is certainly a great effort in anyone's book but the game ball has to go to the kicker...suisham without him i think we maybe discussing a loss.
Also if he doesnt kick the ball so damn short on the opening kickoff we are discussing a 7-10 pint win |
Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?
Suisham gets an assist, but he would not even have been on the field five times if CP hadn't put ther team in FG position.

Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?
Clinton Portis showed that he has alot left in the tank. But come next week we will have people talking about Steve Slaton and Ray Rice again. Portis should have been getting the ball 25-30 times a game before today and I think hooskins said it in an earlier thread, Portis gets stronger as the game goes on which is a cliche' but it is very true.
Portis has to get it
If Suisham had a leg he would have kicked it behind the goaline and we win in regulation without 7 point from kickoff return
That's ridiculous. You could also say if the other 10 guys on the field had been able to make a tackle on that play, we would've won in regulation. I voted for Portis. |

That first kickoff was directional by design...that was coaching and poor coverage....actually the kick was perfect....yes...a couple other were shorter but had good hang time....one was a touchback which is very rare these days for any team....It is nice to know he has that sort of power. |

This is an easy one. C.P.

Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?
Portis was phenomenal but I gotta give my game ball to Swish. The guy was beyond clutch.
|
Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?
I'm giving the ball to Portis. I mean how can anyone not give the ball to Portis when the man accounted for most of our offense. Yes, Suisham was great but with almost 200 yards on the ground you have to give Portis the game ball.

Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?
Without Suisham, we score 8 points.
Game Ball -- Suisham. End of story. |
Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?
Even though Suisham cost us anywhere between 2-3 points with short kickoffs, he gets my gameball.
I picked the score to be Jets 20, Skins 17. The only difference between that and the final is that Suisham hit all four of his field goals in regulation, none of them under 40, and forced overtime in a stadium that is historically rough on kickers (see: Nugent's miss to end the first half). Oh yeah, he also kicked the game winner as straight as possible. This one's easy.
Yeah I was counting on that safety to avoid OT till Suisham pooched it. |
Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?
I gave it to Mangina for punting the ball away at our own 37 yd line in OT knowing his defense couldn't stop us terrific call for a 1-7 team, it was a Gibbs like decision.
But if it has to be a player then I think you have to go with Portis, 196 yards is a big accomplishment regardless how bad the Jets are. |
Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?
the fans desrve the game ball cause what we have to deal with from week to week..my vote is portis and the field goal kicker.....
|
Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?
I picked Suisham but only because the OL wasn't there.
|
Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?
Its gotta go to Suisham...haven't had a kicker with that kind of performance since Mosely.
Chip Lohmiller is the only kicker ever to have a 5-FG game in 3 straight seasons. :D |
I picked Suisham but only because the OL wasn't there.
If you believe that, why not vote for Portis...200 yards with a bad line is impressive. :) |
Re: Skins 23 Jets 20: who gets your game ball?
If you believe that, why not vote for Portis...200 yards with a bad line is impressive. :)
Because Portis can't run that well now, and he was bumping into the OL, but he OL kept pushing. Even you and I could have run through those massive holes the OL were opening up for Portis.
