Are there any Battlefield 2 fans here who have played CoD4? I'm dying to pick it up but my computer just can't handle it right now until I upgrade - it's killing me.
canthetuna-are you saying you don't like COD4?
sorry i never saw the question... no I love the game. I wound up calling blockbuster and having them just charge my card for the game and keeping it.

we're up to level 46, i believe... we just unlocked the m14. the only things we have to unlock now are the mp44 and the barrett .50
I just recently started playing online alot and man this game is intense online. I'm still getting my ass kicked for the most part, I think the big thing is just getting to know the maps.

Anyone got any good tips for playing online?

Can you form clans in this game like in SOCOM? It would be nice to have a crew to roll with.
you can form clans, after you complete some challenges. I only play in free for all mode and have just added a few guys to my xbox friends list that are cool to play with. If you start a clan let me know. I thought about sending you an invite to play the other day... I'll do that if I see you on again.

I'm level 46 and still get my ass kicked, but sometimes I do a little kicking myself.

when you start out I'd say use stopping power and the last stand perks, and switch to martyrdom and overkill later. overkill allows you to carry 2 primary weapons.

I like to run around along the edges of the maps if Im not familiar with the maps with a good close range gun (shotgun or small machine gun with fast fire). If you keep moving and checking behind you you get killed less as long as you stay out of the streets etc...

oh, and don't be afraid to use your knife... i get almost as many knife kills as I do with explosives.

I roll with claymores and martyrdom and that gets me a lot of kills, but that's just my preference.

But like I said, I just recently started playing online

I haven't gotten a kill with my knife yet. But I've definitely been knifed several times, it's always so embarrassing but it's taught me to constantly keep moving and keep checking my back.

I bought it when it first came out and it was hard to transition to it from Halo 3. I beat the story mode in a couple of days and never really got a hang of the multiplayer. I ended up selling it a few days later. lol. I will give it this, the graphics are much better than halo 3, so is the story mode (its much more realistic). But Halo 3 has it beat on multiplayer IMO.

I'm the exact opposite. I find Halo online to be pretty boring, offline as well. I've just never been a fan of the series. I'm thinking of selling my Halo 3.

I'm just not a fan of sci-fi shooters I guess.

I finlally bought it as well. I agree with Smooter, it is cool but doesn't hold a candle to Halo 3. I am speaking mulitplayer. I hate the story line in Halo 3.

That's right, you're daddyskins2.

I just got the martyrdom perk, can't wait to try it out. I've been on the other end of that perk too many times.

Is the PC version good? How's it compare to Battlefield 2 mutliplayer? What kind of system are you running?

Did you guys check out the new map pack yet?

Re: The official Call of Duty 4 thread

I like all the maps they are pretty neat, chinatown is just alright though. Much more worth it then the halo map pack.

Re: The official Call of Duty 4 thread

I havent bought them yet... I will tonight though. My wife was telling me about them, but this is the first I've had the chance to check them out.

Re: The official Call of Duty 4 thread

Creek is pretty crazy, I still haven't gotten a handle on that map yet. It feels like you can get killed from any direction. Chinatown is still confusing to me, lots of close combat. I like Broadcast, I thought that was one of the cooler parts of the single player mode so it's cool to see them finally include it.

Re: The official Call of Duty 4 thread

I love creek. I played for a couple of hours last night (I wish you could just play domination, instead of hq, which I don't really like much, and sabatoge) and only played broadcast, creek, and chinatown. I haven't seen Killhouse, yet... I'll sign on this morning since its raining (after taking the kids to breakfast) and all I had to do today was cut grass. (damn rain :))

I think they're adding the new maps to all the other game modes this week (domination, free for all, etc.)
