Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas
I know who I'm banning first :) (the Redskins have come back twice after being down at the half this year to win by the way)
This isn't about drinking kool-aid you rat poison guzzler :). This is about -Some damn positivity on a Redskins fan site -Records out the window when these two teams play each other (Remember 1991?) -Portis' proving (to the morons who doubted) that his big game against the Jets was no fluke. -Campbell gaining confidence in himself -The team gaining confidence in Campbell It just baffles me how so many people are so sure all the time that the Redskins will lose. Were you sure Manning would throw 6 Ints yesterday? Were you sure the Saints' sudden hot streak would end at the hands of the 0-8 Rams? If you were more power to you. It won't be easy. No one said it would be. The Cowboys are a very strong team. I just hope the team doesn't have the same quit in them its "harcore fans" do.
Look who we came back against. The 1-8 Jets with the worst defense in the NFL?? It shouldn't have come down to us having to come back against them. We almost lost to Arizona with a one armed QB. We had to go to overtime to beat a winless Miami team. Sorry but it's hard to jump on any bandwagon when this stuff happens. N.O. does not have a good defense. Even last year they did not have a good defense. Rams are a different team when jackosn is on the field. Plus they have very good skill players. I don't have quit in me. The injuries are killing us right now. Even if we are healthy Dallas is probably better. I'm just keeping it real and I'm not living in some fantasy world. Pass the rat poison please. |
I'll stick with the parrot avatar. And change my sig to "I should have listened to PaulSkinsfan"
Ok. Now with Matt's bet, I had to stay away for 1 week. Now, if you do the signature thing, I'll stay away for an additional week, a total of 2. So, in a nutshell: Paulskinsfan wins: Smootsmack changes his avatar and signatue line. Mattyk doesn't post for 1 week. Smootsmack & Matt win: Paulskinsfan doesn't post for 2 weeks. Is that accurate? |

Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas
It's that time of year again.
One of my favorite two weeks throughout the year. It's Dallas week baby!!!!!!!!!!!! This is our first HUGE game right here. We need this win as bad as any other ones we've had. Time to order your kegs, call your friends, and get nestled in for a celebration. You can't get more excited than this week, and we characteristically can knock off Dallas by any means possible. Let's have another great week of practice, nurse some of those injuries, and come out with the kind of F... you mentality that Joe Gibbs and Greg Williams bring against the Dallas Cowboys. Punch 'em in the face, run the ball, use the play action, force Romo into turnovers. Shoot, if Manning can throw 6, we can get Romo with at least 12 INT's. That's probably being conservative. Time to set your ring tone to hail to the redskins, time to change your desktop wall paper to Romo fumbling in the playoffs, and it's definitely time to talk some smack, show some heart, and enjoy being a Redskins fan. Lastly, and most importantly, it's time to hate Dallas with a relentless passion. It's Dallas week for Christ's sake, so it's time to get up out of your couch that has the perfect mold of your ass from not standing up for your team all year. Show some love, or go home. That's what being a Redskins fan is about, and if you can't do it during Dallas week, than throw all of your Redskins shit out. Godspeed skins, I'm going to be obnoxious all week long.... so I apologize in advance to any co-workers, family members, or acquaintances that are annoyed. I simply don't care. Hail! |
Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas
Admittedly, and despite the cool rationality of my last post, nothing would ease the pain like kicking the shit out of the Dallas Cowroids.
So, hell yeah! We're gonna stomp some skulls! We're gonna re-break some Brokeback mother-fuckers! We're gonna channel the ghost of George Allen and the Squire and take the pissed off negative energy of all these whinging spine-less fans, and hit God's toilet with a perfect four-flusher shit-storm. In other words, we're gonna play our guts out. Pass the koolaid, biatches. |

I actually only disagree with you on Redskins related issues, as you seem to have alot more faith in the current structure of the Redskins to turn this thing around. I have very little faith in the current structure. Im most frustrated with Snyder, he seems to be a man of great intelligence and one that learns from his mistakes in business. However, Snyder refuses to hire a GM and to step out of the picture as far as the Skins go. Ive given them 3+ years now, and although Ive seen some improvement , I just don't think Gibbs and Company are the cure, and certainly not Snyder's current system of draft/free agency by committee. Anyway, I hope I lose. I need to spend less time on here anyway. |

Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas
Will we? who knows really. Any given Sunday. But yesterday was so frustrating; there were so many positives we can take from the game (running game is back, the passing game can succeed without Moss, Campbell's growth) but in the end we came out with an L. It sucks, of course it sucks, no fan enjoys losing.
But what's even more frustrating is that it seems we can't even come onto this site, a REDSKINS FAN SITE, to boost our spirits and rally around our team. Instead, we have the usual "Joe must go" "This team is heading in the wrong direction" thread. Sad part is we even get those after wins. You'd think we'd never won a game ever the way some people talk. So, call me crazy, call this thread 'retarded' all you want, but it's high time we got some more positive vibes going here. Of course, I know there will be those "I'm just being a realist" responses. But the reality is that we're 5-4 and plenty of teams around the NFL are in worse shape than us. And there is a lot to feel good about 9 games into the season. That so few people see that on a Redskins fan site is a shame. Call it bold, call it stupid. But I'm saying right here right now that the Redskins will be 6-4 after next Sunday. Someone has to think positive, it might as well be me. If we lose, I'll use the infamous Parrot avatar for two weeks. If we win, I'm banning 10 of you for two weeks ;) I'm about to do a Kool-Aid keg stand, who's with me?
Call you names? Well if you insist! Boy I could make a lot of money this week betting all these kool aid kids. |

Simply amazing, we cant beat the terrible eagles at home, yet were going to beat the best team in the NFC on the road, yeah I really see that happening. We just lost Taylor for about 2-3 weeks and now you will see what he really means to Gregg Williams rediculous defensive scheme. Like I said about the Patriots game, if were still in it at the half, thats nothing short of a miracle.

Anyone here that thinks we're likely to win this game is either sarcastic, or retarded. I think a distinction needs to be made between "support", and "view". You can view your team as it is, and make predictions based upon that. This thread is about "support".
This is a sport wholly based in entertainment. You're routing for a team. Your cheering something on. There is this cause, this idea that you're a part of something along with your town/friends/family etc. That's what makes the NFL so exciting. Fans have this exciting world of possibilities, of emotions, and of meaning. All in all, it is what it is; entertainment. But, for a second, zoom out and ask yourself why your a fan, and what being a fan means to you. This isn't a prediction thread. This is a thread devoted to supporting a common interest. We all will watch Sunday because we know that there is a chance that we can win. If you thought that there was no chance, than why would you even watch? It would be pointless. This team is still driving for a the playoffs, and once again... the road looks tough. But this is what's so entertaining about the Redskins. Only two years ago we were faced with similar trials and tribulations and we succeeded. We won 5 and a row, and everyone went insane. This is the thread to be a homer. This is the thread to throw all reason and logic out the window and just simply get your rally caps on and be a fan. If you can't do that, than where's the entertainment. What about this sport at all is exciting? Your missing out on the best part of watching football. This unpredictability, the chaotic nature of the beast. This is a fan site... so let's start getting pumped up for the biggest week in Redskins football. It's Dallas week, if you can't get psyched up for this, than leave this thread alone. |

Honestly, Taylor going down was tragic... I really think I cried a little on the inside. I'm looking to see Landry intimidate Romo. Start putting him on the ground, and the man starts throwing INT's. |

The season is only so long, so I can't understand why people want to spend all the time and energy they do bitching about things they can't control. Ultimately, my life's happiness is not determined by how well the Skins play week to week and I guess I look at the game experience in simpler terms. I enjoy putting on my jersey and sporting the team colors. I enjoy feeling like I'm apart of a franchise that has a such a long and rich history. I take a lot of pride in that. I enjoy discussing the upcoming games and sharing experiences with my fellow fans. I do take the losses pretty hard and I get frustrated at times, but it would be nice if we as a fanbase would do more to rally around the team instead of constantly tearing them down. I don't see the point really. I've watched this team for 25 years. They can take you to the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. For me, that's what makes them exciting and so much fun to watch. |

True enough, but the Redskins' losses to the Giants, Eagles, and Packers have all been respectable (if there is such a thing with regard to losses). In fact, we were leading all 3 teams at the half and looking pretty dominant (not Patriots' dominant, but dominant nonetheless). Now good teams put opponents to bed and hold onto leads, but bad teams don't beat up on good teams during the first or second half of games. |
Somebody sticky this post (if you can?) and make it required reading before joining this discussion forum. |
Throwing logic out the window for fantasy is exactly the reason our nation is in a sorry ass state. And if everyone on the thread/site/blog was always like Yeah Redskins #1 all the time it would get boring after awhile. I see your point Rob, but a message board blog that says the same stuff all the time gets rather boring. The debate is what makes a blog or message board interesting and fun. I mean half the time I say shoot from the hip stuff just to get folks going. It is rather fun to be honest!!!!!
I agree that the different viewpoints make this site interesting. BUT, I personally want to hear the views of people who have shown the ability to think things through, mean what they say, and not say things just to stir the pot. In my experience, stirring the pot for the sake of creating controversy just causes fights and leads to posters having to wade through post after post of personal attacks. |

Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas
How many picked the Rams to beat the Saints yesterday? How many picked us to beat the Saints last year? How many picked us to beat Dallas last year? How many picked Dallas to beat us when they went 1-15??? HOW MANY PEOPLE PICKED APP STATE TO BEAT MICHIGAN???????? It CAN happen!!! Honestly I don't know how some of these people get in front of the tv on Sunday to watch the game. Yes there's a good chance they will lose, but there's a CHANCE we will win!!! Either way, come Sunday...and EVERY Sunday during EVERY season....the jersey or shirt goes on, a beer goes in the hand...and the hope goes up!!! EVERY TIME!!!
